Role and Responsibilities

The service center technician completes the necessary skilled tasks required in all operational areas; maintenance (fleet, rental & other), equipment repairs both scheduled and emergent.

It is incumbent upon the service center technician to continually build upon their skills to the point where they do not require direct supervision to complete the tasks that they are scheduled to complete. There may be opportunities within Spray Foam for a technician to specialize in a particular skilled trade, however, it is expected that all tradesmen will cross train to continually add value to Spray Foam’s capability to service their customers in the timeliest manner possible. It is also expected that all technicians will pitch-in on the tasks that are required at the direction of the Shop Supervisor, to meet customer needs.

Major responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Repair and maintain motorized power equipment and other industry power equipment

Perform preventive maintenance tasks such as lubricating parts and checking fluid levels

Fabricate parts and equipment as required to meet shop and customer needs

Service and oversee repairs of all types of equipment to ensure proper working condition

Maintain a clean & organized workstation also ensuring repair items are properly labeled

Execute scheduled maintenance, diagnose, and repair equipment based upon demonstrated skill level without supervision

Clean parts & equipment independently

Prepare rental equipment for use and check equipment back in upon return per procedures

Perform preventative maintenance on company vehicles and shop support equipment as directed

Maintain good housekeeping of the shop and warehouse areas with attention to the spray booth prior to trainings

Verify all shop materials and supplies are available and ready before starting assignments

Develop the skills necessary to complete tasks successfully without supervision

Complete the tasks scheduled by the Shop supervisor or his assigned lead

Secondary responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

Backup freight related tasks – building crates, etc.

Backup Delivery driver

Required Qualifications

Driver’s license & clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

Skilled multi-tradesman with knowledge in the following:

General mechanics

General carpentry

General electrical

Industry specific equipment

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Good communication skills both verbally & written

Maintain good housekeeping of the shop and warehouse areas

Additional Notes

The main focus of this person is to meet the objectives of the Shop Supervisor as well as the Company. To be accountable and show initiative in learning and increasing personal knowledge of the business skills needed to run a smooth shop and warehouse operation while assisting those around them to do the same. To maintain professionalism, pride in workmanship and abide by the Company Policies.
