Role Description The Marine Operations Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in the Ventura/Oxnard, CA Area, responsible for overseeing and executing daily marine operations and ensuring safe, efficient use of vessels and support assets. This role coordinates vessel scheduling, crew assignments, and operational readiness for maritime tests and evaluations, including activities involving unmanned and traditional platforms. The Marine Operations Manager develops and implements operating procedures, manages compliance with relevant safety and regulatory standards, liaises with internal teams and external partners to align marine operations with project requirements, and executes test events on-site.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in Marine Operations and/or Aerial Operations with a strong understanding of test and evaluation event execution, maritime safety, regulations, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Operations Management, including planning, resource allocation, and process improvement for complex and novel marine activities.
  • Hands-on background in crew coordination, testing oversight, and operational readiness.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional technical teams, project managers, and external partners in a testing and evaluation environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to make sound decisions under time-sensitive conditions.
  • Experience with unmanned systems or marine technologies is highly beneficial.
  • Relevant maritime certifications or licenses, and a degree or equivalent experience in marine operations, maritime studies, engineering, or a related field.
  • Must work on-site, support field operations, and travel as needed for testing activities.
  • Must excel with traditional Microsoft Office products and other standard software
