We are a fast-growing food company based in Miami, Florida.

Our business operates across e-commerce, retail, foodservice, wholesale, and distribution channels. As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Logistics & Supply Chain Analyst to help us analyze, optimize, and improve our logistics, warehouse, inventory, freight, and fulfillment operations.

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly analytical, organized, and hands-on logistics professional who can evaluate our current supply-chain operation and identify opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency, strengthen inventory control, and build scalable processes for continued growth.

This is not simply a logistics coordinator position.

We are looking for someone who can analyze data, identify operational problems, recommend solutions, and work with management and our warehouse team to implement improvements.

The ideal candidate understands both the analytical and operational sides of logistics, including inventory management, warehouse operations, domestic transportation, parcel shipping, LTL/FTL freight, international freight, imports, container planning, and fulfillment.

Experience in the food and beverage industry and knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards are strong advantages.

Key ResponsibilitiesLogistics & Transportation Analysis

  • Analyze current transportation and shipping operations to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Review parcel, LTL, FTL, ocean freight, and international transportation costs.
  • Analyze carrier rates, fuel surcharges, accessorial charges, transit times, and service performance.
  • Compare transportation providers and recommend the most cost-effective shipping methods.
  • Identify opportunities to negotiate better rates with carriers, freight brokers, freight forwarders, and logistics providers.
  • Monitor transportation KPIs, delivery performance, damages, delays, and claims.
  • Analyze shipping costs by customer, product, order size, channel, and shipping method.

Warehouse & Fulfillment Optimization

  • Analyze existing warehouse processes and identify opportunities to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Review receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, and shipping processes.
  • Analyze warehouse layout and product flow.
  • Identify operational bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions.
  • Help establish measurable warehouse productivity KPIs.
  • Evaluate opportunities for automation, improved systems, equipment, or workflow changes.
  • Help improve fulfillment efficiency for e-commerce, retail, wholesale, and foodservice orders.
  • Analyze labor utilization and warehouse productivity.

Inventory Management

  • Analyze inventory levels, inventory turnover, stock movement, and replenishment requirements.
  • Help improve inventory forecasting and purchasing decisions.
  • Identify slow-moving, excess, or potentially obsolete inventory.
  • Improve inventory accuracy and cycle-counting procedures.
  • Support FIFO and FEFO inventory-management practices where applicable.
  • Maintain proper lot tracking and product traceability.
  • Help establish appropriate safety-stock and reorder levels.
  • Analyze inventory requirements based on sales growth and demand.

International Freight & Import Logistics

  • Support and analyze international inbound shipments.
  • Review ocean freight, container utilization, port charges, drayage, and related import costs.
  • Analyze 20-foot and 40-foot container utilization and recommend optimal configurations.
  • Optimize pallet and carton configurations to maximize container and truck utilization.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, carriers, and warehouses when necessary.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce landed costs and improve inbound lead times.

Data Analysis & Reporting

  • Build and maintain logistics and supply-chain reports.
  • Analyze operational data using Excel and other analytical tools.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Track freight cost per order, cost per unit, inventory turnover, fulfillment performance, carrier performance, and warehouse productivity.
  • Identify trends, inefficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Present findings and recommendations directly to management.
  • Help management make data-driven decisions regarding logistics, inventory, purchasing, and warehouse operations.

Food Safety & SQF

Candidates with food-industry and SQF experience will have an additional advantage.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Supporting logistics and warehouse processes in accordance with food-safety requirements.
  • Maintaining proper product traceability and lot control.
  • Supporting FIFO/FEFO procedures.
  • Ensuring appropriate receiving, storage, handling, and shipping procedures for food products.
  • Assisting with warehouse documentation and recordkeeping.
  • Supporting preparation for SQF audits and inspections.
  • Identifying logistics or warehouse processes that could create food-safety or compliance risks.
  • Working with management to maintain strong warehouse and food-safety procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation, warehouse operations, inventory management, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience analyzing shipping, transportation, or freight costs.
  • Understanding of warehouse and inventory-management processes.
  • Experience working with carriers, freight brokers, 3PLs, or freight forwarders.
  • Ability to analyze operational data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of projects.
  • Ability to work directly with both management and warehouse personnel.

Preferred Qualifications

The following experience is considered a strong plus:

  • Food and beverage industry experience.
  • Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) experience.
  • Knowledge of SQF (Safe Quality Food) standards.
  • Previous experience working in an SQF-certified facility or food-safety-regulated warehouse.
  • Knowledge of food traceability and lot-control requirements.
  • Experience with FIFO/FEFO inventory management.
  • Experience preparing for or participating in SQF or food-safety audits.
  • E-commerce fulfillment experience.
  • Retail and foodservice distribution experience.
  • Amazon and Walmart fulfillment knowledge.
  • Import/export logistics experience.
  • Ocean freight and container planning experience.
  • Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • ERP or inventory-management systems.
  • Power BI or other business-intelligence tools.

We want someone who will go beyond reporting numbers and actively identify problems, recommend solutions, and help implement those solutions.

Ideal Candidate

Our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys getting into the details of an operation.

You should be equally comfortable analyzing an Excel spreadsheet, reviewing freight invoices, evaluating inventory levels, walking through a warehouse, speaking with carriers, and presenting recommendations to management.
