Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Logistics Specialist to join our supply chain operations team. In this role, you will be pivotal in managing warehouse distribution, transportation planning, and inventory control to ensure seamless product flow from procurement to delivery. Your expertise will drive process improvements, optimize freight and shipping logistics, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency. Responsibilities
- Oversee warehouse management systems and inventory management systems to maintain accurate stock levels and streamline operations.
- Coordinate transportation management systems and freight logistics to ensure timely delivery while optimizing costs.
- Manage procurement activities, including sourcing, vendor management, negotiations, and contract administration, to secure the best pricing and terms.
- Conduct data analysis using tools like SQL, Excel data analysis, and Tableau to identify trends, root cause issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Plan demand forecasting, production planning, and stocking strategies aligned with sales forecasts and inventory targets.
- Supervise shipping & receiving processes, including manual handling, materials handling, and compliance with trade regulations and international trade laws.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on category management, customer service initiatives, and supply chain analytics to enhance overall operational performance.
Experience
- Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a strong understanding of warehouse experience and warehouse distribution.
- Demonstrated proficiency with ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP, along with transportation management systems (TMS) and inventory management systems.
- Skilled in analysis techniques using spreadsheets, Excel data analysis, SQL queries, and data collection methods for actionable insights.
- Hands-on experience with warehouse operations including shipping & receiving, materials handling, stocking procedures, and inventory control.
- Knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, vendor management, contracts negotiation, and freight management (3PL providers).
- Familiarity with trade compliance regulations and international trade procedures is highly desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge or experience working with transportation planning tools such as Microsoft Office Suite or specialized logistics software is a plus.
