Shift: 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM CST
Job Summary
We are seeking a Logistics Specialist to support supply chain and transportation operations. This role is responsible for coordinating shipments, processing purchase orders and invoices, maintaining inventory records, and ensuring the timely movement of raw materials and finished goods. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, experience with ERP systems, and knowledge of logistics and supply chain operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments to warehouses, plants, vendors, and customers.
- Process purchase orders, sales orders, invoices, and shipping documentation.
- Maintain accurate records in ERP systems, spreadsheets, and databases.
- Assist with transportation scheduling and freight coordination.
- Monitor inventory levels and shipment status.
- Support customer orders, purchase/sales contracts, and logistics documentation.
- Manage transportation claims, shipment incidents, and order changes.
- Coordinate with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), warehouses, and vendors.
- Support transportation capacity planning and import/container shipments.
- Identify and resolve routine logistics issues while escalating complex problems.
- Prepare reports related to shipments, inventory, and logistics performance.
Required Skills
- Experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain, or customer service.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong data entry and documentation skills.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with freight coordination and shipment tracking.
- Knowledge of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with purchase orders, invoices, and transportation documentation.
- Experience working with third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Supply chain or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment.
