Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Logistics Specialist to manage the planning, coordination, and execution of transportation and delivery activities for our heavy equipment rental operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the safe, timely, and cost-effective movement of machinery to and from customer sites, maintenance yards, and rental depots. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in logistics coordination, a solid understanding of heavy equipment handling, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, operational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule the transport and delivery of heavy equipment based on rental orders, project timelines, and customer requirements.
Coordinate with drivers, transport companies, and internal teams to ensure timely dispatch and delivery.
Track equipment movement and maintain accurate records of pickup, drop-off, and return times.
Ensure compliance with transport regulations, safety protocols, and equipment handling standards.
Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and resolve any logistical issues or delays.
Collaborate with the service and maintenance team to ensure readiness of equipment before delivery.
Monitor fleet availability and optimize delivery routes to reduce transportation costs and improve efficiency.
Manage documentation including delivery notes, transport logs, inspection reports, and rental agreements.
Support inventory and yard operations by assisting in equipment tracking and allocation.
Identify and resolve issues proactively to avoid delivery disruptions and customer dissatisfaction.
Requirements:
Proven experience in logistics, transport coordination, or dispatching—ideally in the heavy equipment rental, construction, or industrial sectors.
Strong understanding of heavy equipment types, transport requirements, and site delivery logistics.
Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with strong attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for coordination with internal teams, drivers, and clients.
Proficient in logistics software, Microsoft Office, and equipment tracking systems.
Knowledge of safety standards, local transport laws, and loading/unloading procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or a related field.
Valid driver’s license and understanding of transport permits and route planning regulations is a plus.
