Position Overview:
The Logistics Specialist is a key member of our supply chain team, responsible for coordinating and managing various aspects of logistics operations. The role involves ensuring the smooth and efficient movement of products through the supply chain, from sourcing to delivery. The Logistics Specialist will collaborate closely with different departments, vendors, and transportation partners to optimize logistics processes and meet our site demands.
Key Responsibilities:
Transportation Coordination:
Arrange and coordinate transportation services for inbound and outbound shipments, including ground, air, and sea transportation.
Track shipments and communicate with carriers to ensure on-time delivery.
Order Processing:
Process incoming purchase orders, verify accuracy, and ensure timely fulfillment.
Resolve any issues related to order accuracy, shipping delays, or product availability.
Supply Chain Optimization:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the supply chain to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Propose and implement strategies to streamline logistics operations and improve overall supply chain performance.
Compliance and Documentation:
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for all logistics activities.
Vendor and Partner Coordination:
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, carriers, and logistics service providers.
Negotiate contracts and rates with vendors to secure cost-effective logistics solutions.
Problem-solving and Issue Resolution:
Address logistical challenges promptly and proactively find solutions to prevent recurring issues.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve any supply chain disruptions.
Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in logistics operations and supply chain management.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in using logistics and inventory management software/systems.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and data integrity.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
