The Logistics Specialist is responsible for independently coordinating, monitoring, and optimizing shipment and logistics activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant availability of items and services in line with business requirements and operational timelines.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee end-to-end shipment activities, including shipment scheduling, documentation, clearance, insurance, and final delivery, ensuring adherence to agreed timelines and service levels.
- Review, validate, and reconcile shipping and delivery documentation received from suppliers, forwarders, clearing agents, and insurance companies, resolving discrepancies and ensuring full regulatory compliance.
- Act as a key point of contact with internal stakeholders (local logistics teams, Commercial, Finance) and external partners (forwarders, clearing agents, insurers, suppliers) to proactively address shipment issues and operational risks.
- Track, analyze, and follow up on item requests and shipment statuses, ensuring alignment with business priorities, inventory needs, and distribution plans.
- Prepare periodic logistics reports and operational updates, highlighting shipment status, risks, and improvement opportunities for management review.
- Identify recurring logistics issues, delays, or inefficiencies, and propose corrective actions to improve shipment accuracy, lead times, and cost effectiveness.
- Maintain and continuously enhance the database of local, regional, and international forwarders and suppliers, assessing service performance and data accuracy.
- Ensure logistics activities comply with organizational policies, procedures, codes of conduct, and applicable local and international regulations.
- Support audits and internal reviews by providing accurate logistics data, shipment records, and documentation as required.
- Demonstrate strong soft skills, including excellent communication, a collaborative team-player attitude, an entrepreneurial mindset, and a customer-oriented approach.
Qualifications:
- Three to five years of experience in Logistics, preferably in Global Forwarding, Retail and FMCG environments.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, or a related field.
- CLMP Certification is an advantage.
- Proficiency in English.
- Intermediate Excel Skills and knowledge in ERP systems is preferred, specifically in Microsoft D365 is an advantage.
