Position Overview

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented individual to take ownership of our shipping, receiving, inventory intake, shipment documentation, and quality-control workflow.

We are a small, hands-on team that genuinely enjoys what we do, and we are looking for the right person to become an important part of our next phase of growth. Demand for our products has continued to increase, and we are currently being selective about how much additional sales volume we accept so we can maintain the quality and service standards that are important to us.

This position will help expand that capacity by becoming the primary point person for our logistics and asset-processing workflow, allowing us to continue growing and hire additional electronics technicians and other team members as demand increases.

We are not looking for someone who already knows every part of the position on day one. Many of our systems and technical processes can be taught. We are looking for someone who is dependable, organized, willing to learn, takes pride in doing things correctly, and wants to grow with a small business where their work has a visible impact.

Our approach to training is hands-on and thorough. We want employees to understand not only what needs to be done, but also the process and reasoning behind it. Once someone is fully trained and demonstrates that they understand the workflow, we believe in giving them the trust and independence to manage their day-to-day responsibilities without constant supervision.

Because of that, this position is best suited for someone who is comfortable managing priorities, communicating freely with the rest of the team when needed, and taking ownership of their responsibilities while still being part of a collaborative environment.

This is an active warehouse role within an office environment. It combines physical work, structured processes, basic technical tasks, computer-based work, and changing daily priorities.

Depending on order volume, this position may be responsible for processing a combined total of up to 100 incoming and outgoing packages per day. Our systems are designed to keep that workload organized, with accuracy and proper documentation remaining just as important as speed.

Why This Position Matters

Every product we receive must be accurately identified, documented, prepared, serviced, listed, sold, and shipped.

When shipping, receiving, and inventory processing run smoothly, our technicians can focus more of their time on repairing and preparing electronics instead of stopping technical work to manage packages, returns, and inventory.

Current demand is high enough that our operational capacity affects how much additional sales volume we are comfortable accepting. Establishing a strong, dependable person in this role will help us responsibly increase that capacity while maintaining our standards and continuing to grow the team.

Core ResponsibilitiesReceiving & Inventory Processing

· Receive incoming shipments from carriers, vendors, and delivery services

· Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for carrier drivers while they are at our facility, including greeting them and assisting with incoming deliveries and outgoing pick-ups as needed

· Unbox, inspect, document, and accurately sort incoming products

· Compare received products against purchase information and identify discrepancies involving model, specifications, quantity, condition, or functionality

· Identify defective, downgraded, not-as-described, or materially different items and manage the vendor-return process, including documenting issues, requesting returns or replacements, and helping track refunds or resolutions

· Identify devices enrolled in Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems associated with previous organizations, verify ownership and lock status, and ensure restricted or unusable units are returned to the appropriate vendor or organization before being accepted into inventory

· Perform pre-cleaning and basic preparation of electronic devices before technician assembly or servicing

· Process customer returns across supported marketplaces by reviewing return reasons, confirming condition, updating records, and coordinating the appropriate disposition of returned products

· Maintain accurate organization and documentation as products move through receiving and inventory workflows

Shipping & Fulfillment

· Prepare and ship customer orders, marketplace shipments, vendor returns, defective-product returns, and other outbound packages

· Create and print accurate shipping labels and packing slips

· Verify shipping addresses, order information, carrier services, and physical products before shipment

· Use packaging and recording software to document and verify products

· Select appropriate packaging materials and securely package laptops, desktops, electronics, parts, and accessories

· Schedule carrier pick-ups for shipments not covered by existing daily routes

· Communicate directly with carrier drivers regarding deliveries, scheduled collections, package volume, and special pick-up requirements when necessary

· Organize completed packages for scheduled carrier collection

· Photograph and document every outgoing shipment, including vendor returns, according to the established process before the package leaves our facility

Shipment Photo Documentation

Photo documentation is a required part of every outgoing shipment.

These records allow us to support claims and recover losses involving:

· Carrier loss or damage

· Vendor and marketplace disputes

· Defective products

· Incorrect products

· Products received in a lower specification or condition than ordered

· Materially different items

· Packaging and return-condition disputes

The photography process itself is straightforward and will be taught during training. Photography experience is not required.

The important expectation is consistency: if a package is leaving our facility, the required photographs and documentation must be completed before shipment.

Because these records can determine whether we are able to recover losses from vendors, carriers, or marketplaces, this is a critical responsibility of the position.

Quality Control & Technical Review

During the pre-shipment process, this position will:

· Inspect products for overlooked cosmetic damage

· Ensure devices are clean and free of fingerprints, smudges, dust, and debris

· Verify batteries are functioning properly

· Confirm products match the packing slip, shipping label, and order information

· Confirm required shipment photographs and records have been completed

· Watch for anything damaged, incorrect, incomplete, or inconsistent before shipment

When an issue extends beyond basic cleaning or visual inspection:

· Stop the shipment when necessary

· Communicate the concern to a technician or manager

· Return defective or questionable units for re-examination

· Ensure compromised inventory is not shipped until functionality has been confirmed

For example, if a laptop works while connected to a charger but will not operate properly on battery power, it should be returned to a technician rather than shipped.

The expectation is not that this position independently repairs every technical problem. The expectation is that the employee learns to recognize when something does not look right and escalates it before the product reaches the customer.

Supporting & Variable Responsibilities

Depending on daily workload, this position may also assist with:

· Cleaning and preparing electronics

· MDM inventory checks

· Customer returns

· Vendor-return follow-up

· Inventory organization

· Product documentation

· Marketplace listings

· Supporting technicians

Marketplace listing work may include creating or updating listings for parts and fully assembled computers across platforms such as eBay, Amazon, Newegg, and Walmart, including accurate descriptions and product specifications.

The amount of time spent in each area will vary based on current business demand. Shipping, receiving, and inventory processing remain the core functions of the position.

Warehouse Operations & Supply Management

· Reuse incoming boxes and shipping materials whenever they remain suitable for safe and professional outbound shipping

· Save and organize reusable boxes, padding, packing paper, air pillows, and other appropriate incoming packaging materials for future shipments

· Recycle or dispose of packaging materials that are damaged or unsuitable for reuse

· Break down excess packaging materials and operate a cardboard shredder

· Monitor packaging and operational supply levels

· Place routine supply orders as needed so shipping and receiving operations remain properly stocked

· Identify upcoming supply needs before materials run out

· Remove excess waste and maintain a clean work area

· Vacuum shipping and common areas as needed after package processing and box breakdown

· Receive supply orders at the loading dock

· Use the freight elevator to transport supplies, products, and packaging materials to the suite

· Maintain organized shipping stations, shelves, receiving areas, and workspaces

We believe in making responsible use of materials whenever practical. Reusing suitable incoming packaging helps reduce waste and unnecessary supply costs while still ensuring outgoing products are packaged safely and professionally.

Occasional Customer & Visitor Support

This is not primarily a customer-service or front-desk position.

Occasionally, the employee may be asked to:

· Greet or direct a walk-in customer

· Notify the manager on duty that a customer has arrived

· Direct the customer to the appropriate employee

QualificationsWhat We’re Looking For

A strong candidate will have:

· Strong attention to detail

· Strong organization and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize work and keep tasks moving without constant direction

· Reliability and punctuality

· The ability to follow repeatable procedures consistently

· Basic computer proficiency

· Clear written and verbal communication

· The ability and willingness to communicate openly with technicians, management, and other team members when information, assistance, or clarification is needed

· The ability to work independently after training while remaining collaborative with the team

· The ability to balance efficiency with accuracy and documentation

· The ability to stay organized while processing a combined total of up to 100 incoming and outgoing packages on higher-volume days

· The judgment to stop and escalate questionable products rather than allowing them to continue through the workflow

· Comfort interacting professionally with carrier drivers and other delivery personnel

· Comfort using a camera or mobile device for shipment documentation

· Comfort working with laptops, desktops, electronics, parts, and computer components

· Comfort standing, walking, bending, lifting, unpacking, packaging, and moving products throughout the day

· Ability to lift up to 50 lbs

· Willingness to learn and take ownership of responsibilities

Experience in shipping, receiving, electronics, computers, inventory management, e-commerce, or warehouse operations is preferred but not required.

Advancement & Long-Term Growth

We want this position to be filled by someone interested in becoming a long-term part of our team.

There are two potential paths for growth.

Someone who enjoys logistics and operations may continue developing within this position and take on additional responsibility involving:

· Shipping and receiving operations

· Inventory workflow

· Vendor management

· Quality control

· Marketplace operations

· Process improvement

· Training future employees

For someone interested in electronics repair, there is also a potential technical path.

As we continue expanding, we plan to hire additional electronics technicians and are open to training the right person from this position for a future technician role. Someone who demonstrates strong attention to detail, reliability, technical interest, and a willingness to learn may gradually be given opportunities to develop additional hardware and repair skills.

If that transition eventually occurs, the employee may also help train another person on portions of the logistics and asset-processing workflow they have learned.

Moving into a technician position is not a requirement.

We are equally interested in someone who enjoys logistics and operations, wants to become excellent at this role, and would like to grow with the position as the company expands.

Who We Think Will Enjoy This Role

This position may be a good fit for someone who:

· Likes staying busy and seeing tangible progress throughout the day

· Enjoys organized processes and managing their own workflow

· Notices small details others sometimes overlook

· Enjoys a mix of physical and computer-based work

· Communicates comfortably with teammates

· Appreciates being thoroughly trained and then trusted to do their job

· Knows when to work independently and when to ask for help

· Is looking for a long-term position with room to grow

We are a small team, and every person here has a meaningful impact on our operation. We take our work seriously, but we genuinely enjoy electronics, problem-solving, and continuing to improve what we have built.

We believe in training people thoroughly, trusting them to take ownership of their responsibilities, and being available when they need support.

We are looking for the next person who wants to help us build what comes next.
