HireLevel is seeking a Logistics Project Manager in the St. Louis area to be a leader on its Logistics Team.
This role is responsible for planning and determining the most economical, timely and safe solutions for the movement of project cargo, special transport items and containerized shipments in support the proposal process for prospective jobs and the execution of firm projects. The expectation is that this will be a hybrid position depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Select transportation providers that offer the best value to N/E
Coordinate with and provide support to internal and external customers and suppliers to resolve transportation-related issues
Evaluate prospective & firm project logistics options through assessment of economic, environmental, and governmental concerns (including route surveys, rail siding inspections, job site investigations, meetings with local authorities, etc.)
Act as a liaison, developing and maintaining direct involvement, close working relationships and open lines of communication with internal customers (i.e. Sales & Estimating, Projects, Procurement) and external shipping industry leaders and companies
Initiate requests for quotation (RFQs), negotiate (pricing, terms & conditions) with carriers and freight forwarders, create requisition packages for the placement of purchase contracts, and track status of shipments through delivery
Maintain Logistics expertise (including Trade Compliance) and stay abreast of industry changes by actively participating in shipping industry conferences, panels and other forums and formally communicating (internally) any changes, impacts or other important details of the events, and actively evaluate and participate in projects to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of departmental systems, tools, and processes.
Job Requirements:
At least five (5) years of experience in domestic and international logistics, demonstrated project cargo, break-bulk, and bulk shipment experience.
Power, heavy construction, or energy industry experience preferred.
Knowledge of international commerce and customs/trade regulations.
Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving, decision making, collaboration, negotiation and verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
Estimated travel is 10-15% (domestic and international) but may vary based on project requirements.
