About the Role
We are partnering with an Asian business expanding into the UAE market and are looking for a hands-on Logistics Officer to support the day-to-day logistics and warehouse operations.
This role is ideal for someone with strong experience managing international inbound shipments from APAC, coordinating with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and warehouse partners. You'll play a key role in ensuring smooth inventory flow from origin through to warehouse and final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
International Logistics & Inbound Coordination
- Coordinate inbound shipments from APAC suppliers to the UAE, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Liaise with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs brokers to ensure shipments are delivered according to schedule.
- Prepare and monitor shipping documentation including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and other import/export documents.
- Track shipments and proactively resolve shipping delays or customs clearance issues.
- Ensure compliance with UAE import regulations and Incoterms.
Warehouse Operations
- Coordinate daily inbound and outbound warehouse activities.
- Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure accurate receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch.
- Monitor inventory movements and assist with stock reconciliation and cycle counts.
- Maintain inventory accuracy within the warehouse management system.
Logistics & Vendor Coordination
- Coordinate deliveries with local transport providers, courier partners, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers.
- Support vendor communication regarding shipment schedules, delivery performance, and operational issues.
- Monitor logistics costs and assist with invoice verification.
Process & Systems
- Maintain accurate logistics records and update ERP/WMS systems.
- Support continuous improvement of logistics and warehouse processes.
- Ensure SOPs are followed across logistics and warehouse operations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
- Around 3–5 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse operations.
- Strong experience coordinating international inbound shipments, particularly from APAC countries.
- Good understanding of import/export documentation, customs clearance, and international shipping processes.
- Experience working with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and third-party logistics providers.
- Hands-on experience using ERP or Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work with regional stakeholders.
Preferred
- Experience within retail, consumer goods, or e-commerce industries.
- Previous experience supporting logistics operations in the UAE or GCC region.
- Familiarity with Odoo ERP or similar warehouse management systems.
- Immediate availability or short notice period is preferred.
