Logistics Manager
South-East Asia – Remote Based
Take Ownership of Global Logistics Operations.
Our client is looking for an experienced Logistics Manager to take ownership of the end-to-end movement of components and manufactured parts across a global supply chain. This is a hands-on, commercially focused position where you'll oversee the movement of goods from international manufacturing partners to customers around the world, ensuring shipments are delivered efficiently, compliantly, and cost-effectively.
This isn't simply a freight booking position. We're looking for someone who combines operational excellence with strong commercial awareness—someone who understands that every logistics decision impacts customer satisfaction, delivery performance and business profitability.
Working closely with Sales, Supply Chain, Suppliers and Logistics teams, you'll become the key point where commercial strategy and operational execution come together.
If you're passionate about international logistics, manufacturing and building scalable supply chain operations, we'd love to hear from you.
What You'll Be Responsible For:
Manage Global Freight Operations
- Take ownership of international shipments across air, ocean and express courier services.
- Coordinate the movement of goods primarily from manufacturing partners across China, Vietnam and India into the US, Europe, Israel and other international markets.
- Select the most appropriate shipping methods based on lead time, complexity, customer expectations and commercial considerations.
- Negotiate competitive freight rates with international freight forwarders, shipping providers and courier companies.
- Manage freight pricing, recover transportation costs from customers where appropriate, and challenge unnecessary surcharges or additional fees.
Lead Customs & Trade Compliance
- Own the Organisation's customs and trade compliance strategy across all operating regions.
- Develop processes and best practice while supporting the Logistics Administrator responsible for day-to-day documentation, customs filings and broker communications.
- Act as the internal subject matter expert for complex customs and compliance matters, including:
- HTS classifications
- Importer of Record (IOR) requirements
- Commercial documentation
- CBP Form 28 responses
- Customs holds and clearance issues
- Maintain ongoing compliance across all jurisdictions by ensuring customs bonds, supplier documentation, KYC requirements and regulatory obligations remain current as the business expands internationally.
Partner with Commercial Teams
- Support Sales and Account Executives during customer discussions involving freight-intensive projects.
- Advise on Incoterms, landed costs, customer import requirements and commercial pricing strategies.
- Build and maintain freight cost intelligence across suppliers and shipping lanes to enable accurate and competitive quotations.
- Ensure freight costs are accurately reflected within internal systems so margins, order values and customer invoices remain aligned.
- Provide clear, customer-friendly communication during shipment delays or disruptions, ensuring stakeholders receive timely updates and practical solutions.
Manage Supplier Logistics
- Work closely with manufacturing partners to coordinate shipment readiness, packaging standards, documentation and collection schedules.
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the Logistics Coordinator while collaborating with supplier expediting teams to resolve delays.
- Build strong supplier relationships through responsive, fair and professional communication.
Improve Processes & Drive Operational Excellence
- Champion the Company's logistics platform as the primary source of truth for shipment tracking, documentation and freight costs.
- Identify recurring operational challenges such as customs delays, documentation gaps and freight disputes, then implement sustainable improvements.
- Develop scalable processes and playbooks before introducing automation, ensuring operational improvements are practical and proven.
What We're Looking For
We're interested in hearing from candidates who can demonstrate:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in international logistics, freight forwarding or global supply chain operations.
- Previous experience within manufacturing, hardware, engineering or high-mix industrial environments would be highly beneficial.
- Strong experience negotiating freight rates with carriers, freight forwarders and courier providers.
A thorough understanding of international shipping documentation, including:
- HTS classifications
- Commercial invoices
- Packing lists
- Importer of Record (IOR)
- Customs bonds
- CBP documentation and correspondence
- Commercial awareness with the ability to balance landed cost, customer expectations and business margin.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings sufficiently to understand shipment dimensions, packaging requirements and freight implications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to manage customer escalations professionally.
- A calm, solutions-focused approach when managing customs issues, shipment delays or operational challenges.
- Fluency in English. Additional languages such as Hebrew, Mandarin, Vietnamese or German would be advantageous.
- Confidence using modern collaboration tools such as Slack, Notion, Loom and cloud-based operational platforms.
- The ability to thrive within a fast-paced, high-growth business where processes continue to evolve.
What Makes Someone Successful in This Role
We're looking for someone who:
- Takes ownership of the entire logistics lifecycle rather than individual tasks.
- Thinks commercially as well as operationally, recognising that every logistics decision influences profitability and customer experience.
- Enjoys understanding manufacturing processes and building strong supplier relationships.
- Is comfortable rolling up their sleeves to solve problems before looking to automate them.
- Remains composed under pressure, communicating clearly and resolving issues with confidence.
Desirable Experience
While not essential, the following experience would be highly advantageous:
- Previous employment with an international freight forwarding organisation.
- Experience within digital manufacturing platforms, B2B manufacturing marketplaces or contract manufacturing businesses.
- Exposure to defence or aerospace logistics, including a working knowledge of ITAR or export control regulations.
- A background in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
- Experience establishing or scaling logistics operations within a growing organisation.
