Supporting a full transformation of their logistics operation, this role will shape and lead the future growth, performance and sustainability of the transport network, ensuring alignment of the group’s overall strategy.
The role of Logistics & Freight Network Strategy Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the F&L contracts and Logistics network strategy activities deliver optimal service performance and sustainable outcomes for the group. Supporting the EGM Freight & Logistics in developing strategies, they will be a strategic thinker with strong commercial and operational nous, be a dynamic and persuasive leader who can engage with diverse stakeholder groups (GMs of individual business units & carriers/providers), confidently sell the vision, and leveraging negotiation and influencing skills to deliver business outcomes i.e. vehicle optimisation across a diverse freight portfolio. Â In addition, you will:
Build an effective framework for senior management engagement with key providers.
Work together on the development of sourcing strategies for freight and logistics services. Act as SME to the freight manager on key sourcing activities, leading negotiations as agreed/appropriate. Provide advice on management analysis and reporting of freight spend.
Provide guidance on contract management practices and protocols, ensuring contracts are established that meet the strategic objectives and drive the desired commercial, service and operational outcomes for the business.
We are looking for
an experienced Logistics professional with a robust commercial understanding, adept at managing and aligning key internal/external stakeholders. A background in large-scale heavy industries, ideally industrial manufacturing and highly compliant environments, dealing with multi-site operations and subcontractors, with complex transport networks (wide variety of fleet and products). Managed sizeable freight and logistics contracts required.
