Westin Trading, Inc. is an established grocery distribution company based in St. Louis, MO.
With a nationwide customer base, we ship product throughout the USA.
We are currently seeking an effective person to join our transportation team to help coordinate the shipment of our loads (The skills needed are those similar to those of a freight broker). We ship truckload and LTL shipments throughout the U.S. of grocery products.
Previous experience in the transportation or freight brokerage industry is required.
THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION.
Office Hours: MONDAY THRU FRIDAY 7:30 AM TO 4:30 PM.
WEEKENDS & MAJOR HOLIDAYS OFF.
Responsibilities include:
Scheduling pickup and delivery appointments.
Dispatching drivers.
Track & Trace loads.
Assist with carrier “set up” paperwork.
“Build” loads in company freight system.
Negotiate freight rates with carriers.
Verifying pickup and delivery information.
Finding / Searching for carriers using DAT, and Internet Truck Stop.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of DAT and ITS load boards.
Need to be able to multi-task effectively.
Excellent follow through and follow up.
Organized and detail orientated.
Ability to react quickly and re-prioritize loads quickly.
Effectively communicate with team members and carriers.
Must have good negotiation skills.
Good phone skills.
