Champagne Metals is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Logistics Coordinator to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll play a vital part in ensuring materials are moved efficiently and effectively throughout our supply chain. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is committed to keeping operations running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, track, and update shipment statuses to ensure on-time deliveries
Develop, analyze, and manage logistics strategies and plans
Provide accurate freight rate quotes to internal departments, including Sales and Supply Chain
Coordinate and assist with order picking and material handling
Communicate with common carriers for both inbound and outbound shipments
Create and distribute loading lists and pick tickets for warehouse and shipping teams
Negotiate freight pricing with transportation vendors to optimize costs
Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with vendors and customers
Ensure all shipping practices meet regulatory requirements at the local, state, federal, and international levels
Schedule and oversee maintenance for trucks and trailers
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Critical thinking and quick problem-solving abilities
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of teamwork
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, etc.)
General understanding of supply chain operations and logistics challenges
Education & Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous experience in logistics, shipping, or related field preferred
