Pay Range: $26.68 – $32.43 (based on experience)
Basic Job Functions:
Planning and monitoring inbound and outbound shipments
Negotiating and securing transportation rates
Coordinating with vendors, suppliers and transport companies
Ensuring warehouses, transportation, and customer services work in unity and meet their commitments
Coordinating transportation providers to ensure prompt and proper movement of shipment
Serves customers by providing product and service information and resolving product and service problems.
Reviewing purchase orders and shipping documents to ensure accuracy
Plan and track shipment of final products according to customer requirements
Making special shipping arrangements as necessary
Contributes to team effort
Uses telephones and/or email to respond to customers and/or verify account information
Continually reviews freight costs, transportation rates
Performs related duties as assigned by supervision.
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required, or combination of education and experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word, in particular)
Excellent analytical, problem solving and organizational skills
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently
Understanding of supply chain, including common obstacles and effective solutions
Previous customer service experience
Outstanding organizational and coordination abilities
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working for a manufacturing company
Prior experience in logistics or transportation preferred
1-3 years’ experience in customer service preferred.
Bilingual English/ Spanish, preferred
