The 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM shift is critical; you will bridge the gap between morning delivery spikes and evening warehouse preparation, handling real-time problem-solving as routes conclude.
Key Responsibilities
- Dynamic Dispatching: Monitor driver progress in real-time, adjusting routes based on traffic, weather, or mechanical issues to ensure "just-in-time" delivery windows are met.
- Cold Chain Compliance: Ensure all outbound and returning loads maintain strict temperature controls in accordance with food safety regulations (HACCP/FSMA).
- Driver Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for drivers regarding delivery discrepancies, "refused at dock" scenarios, and end-of-day check-ins.
- Route Optimization: Utilize GPS and routing software to plan fuel-efficient paths that maximize vehicle capacity while meeting customer-specific delivery windows.
- Inventory Coordination: Work closely with the warehouse team to ensure the correct products are loaded and that "short-ships" are communicated to the sales team immediately.
- Documentation: Manage Bills of Lading (BOL), driver logs, and delivery receipts with 100% accuracy.
