Logistics Coordinator Jobs in Chicago, IL at PSA BDP
Title: Logistics Coordinator
Company: PSA BDP
Location: Chicago, IL
Job Description
BridgeNet Solutions, a member of the PSA Group, is a managed 4PL service provider that partners with Fortune 500 companies as an extension of their logistics divisions. BridgeNet operates a Control Tower model built on three pillars — People, Process, and Technology — managing global client logistics spend across Ocean, Air, Road, and Rail modes, supported by our proprietary TMS, Xonar, and an integrated suite of visibility, risk, and analytics platforms.
BridgeNet Solutions operates at an interesting intersection – large enough to manage the global logistics programs of Fortune 500 companies, focused enough that the work you do every day has a visible impact on outcomes that matter to real clients.
As a member of the PSA Group, one of the world's largest port operators and logistics networks, BridgeNet brings the resources and reach of a global organization while maintaining the operating culture of a specialized, high-performance team. That combination — global backing, specialized execution — is what makes the Control Tower model work, and it's what makes this a genuinely unique environment to develop your career.
A few things set us apart:
Technology that actually works. Xonar, our proprietary TMS, was built by people who understand 4PL operations — not adapted from a generic platform. You'll work in a system designed for the complexity you'll face, supported by an integrated suite of visibility and analytics tools that give you real information in real time.
Exposure that's hard to find elsewhere. Managing logistics across Ocean, Air, Road, and Rail for a portfolio of global clients means you'll encounter challenges that coordinators in single-client or single-mode environments simply don't.
A team that takes the work seriously. BridgeNet's Control Tower model is built on the principle that the people closest to execution have the most impact on client outcomes. You won't be executing tasks handed down from above — you'll be making decisions, owning results, and contributing to how we get better. At BridgeNet, the people closest to execution can advance if they demonstrate results, good judgement, and a proven track record.
Flexibility with accountability. This is a remote-optional role because we believe the right people can deliver exceptional outcomes from wherever they work best. What we ask for in return is availability, responsiveness, and the professional discipline to perform in an environment where your work is visible through results, not presence.
Role Summary
Control Towers are regional hubs that direct operational activities and provide visibility to the client. As the Logistics Coordinator, you’ll gain exposure to multi-modal global logistics across a diverse Fortune 500 client portfolio, with direct line of sight to how decisions at the execution level affect supply chain outcomes at scale. You will play a critical part in the tactical execution of the 4PL solution by planning transportation, monitoring exceptions, and communicating with internal and external stakeholders. The Logistics Coordinator role is BridgeNet’s first line of defense in transportation execution – and the clearest point of impact on client outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and leverage BridgeNet's proprietary TMS (Xonar) and integrated visibility platforms as primary tools of daily execution — your fluency in these systems directly impacts the quality of outcomes you deliver.
- Own multi-modal transport, load, and consolidation planning — making real-time decisions that balance cost, service requirements, and client business rules across a high-volume shipment environment.
- Analyze 3PL routing guides and execute carrier selection with a disciplined eye on cost competitiveness, service capability, and compliance — escalating when the right answer isn't in the guide.
- Manage the spot quote process end-to-end, driving competitive, timely responses that protect client cost targets without sacrificing service commitments.
- Identify and resolve shipment exceptions before they become client issues. When disruptions occur, you're expected to diagnose, communicate, and drive resolution — not wait for direction.
- Serve as the client-facing and carrier-facing point of contact for all transport-related communication — owning the relationship, the information flow, and the follow-through.
- Monitor communication events for compliance and completeness, following up on gaps with the urgency those gaps deserve.
- Lead the cargo claims process on behalf of the client — from initial identification through resolution — coordinating with carriers and internal stakeholders to protect client interests.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement within the Control Tower — identifying patterns in exceptions, inefficiencies in process, and opportunities to raise the standard of execution for the team and for the client.
Job Requirements
What are we looking for in a candidate?
- You catch what others miss. When a single missed exception can cascade into a service failure, precision is the standard.
- You solve problems before they become escalations. When a shipment goes sideways, you don’t wait for direction – you assess the situation, identify options, and move
- You communicate clearly across every layer of the organization. Miscommunication in logistics has a cost, and you understand that.
- You thrive in a matrix. BridgeNet operates across time zones, cultures, and organizations. You’re effective working within a team structure where not everyone reports to the same manager, and collaboration happens across borders and functions.
- You make good decisions about what to do next. This role carries a high volume of competing demands. You can quickly assess urgency and impact, triage your workload accordingly, and keep the most critical items moving without losing the details on the rest.
- You’re genuinely curious about how things work – and how they could work better. Our operating environment evolves constantly: new clients, new tools, new challenges.
- You’re fluent in supply chain & logistics technology and comfortable navigating multiple systems simultaneously. Experience with TMS platforms, visibility tools, or supply chain analytics software is a plus and will accelerate your onboarding.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, logistics, business, or a related field preferred
- Minimum of 3-5 years of supply chain/logistics experience
Knowledge And Skills Desirable But Not Essential
