The Logistics Specialist Consultant at OCP North America is a 6-month contract position, and a meaningful role in ensuring the seamless and efficient transportation of our agricultural products and commodities through our integrated supply chain. Working closely with internal teams globally, external partners & customers, and regulatory bodies, this role navigates the complexities of ocean, river and rail transport, maintaining high standards of compliance. Proactive problem-solving skills and attention to detail contribute to the overall success of logistics operations and customer success.
This is a temporary 6-month full-time contractor position and is hybrid requiring 3 days/week on site at our HQ in Wayzata. Emphasis will be placed on candidates with agricultural logistics coordination and/or liquid/container logistics experience.
Responsibilities
- Execute shipments and arrivals logistics by coordinating day-to-day logistics activities, entering and managing physical inventory transfers throughout each stage of the supply chain process, and troubleshooting as needed with the direction of OCPNA’s Supply Chain & Logistics Leaders.
- Execute coordination & scheduling placements and shipments of materials/products through collaboration with our OCP team in Morocco, partners & carriers, and logistic companies to ensure timely deliveries and receipts.
- Receive in and apply loaded shipments to internal and external customers against contracts, by providing documentation and destinations
- Perform daily position tracking by coordinating with carriers and sending position reports to all the stakeholders.
- Own data input and coordination of freight-related contracts, invoices and other critical data related components.
- Enter and manage sales orders and related information into SAP and other tools, ensuring high accuracy and completeness & maintaining proper categorization of products in each sales order field in order entry.
- Generate and update sales order reports from SAP and other systems and assist in monitoring inventory levels based on sales orders and flagging any discrepancies.
- Act as a communication liaison between customers and internal supply chain and logistics teams efficiently and effectively meet quality and sales/delivery execution goals.
- Prepare and review shipping documentation (bills of lading, certificates of analysis, MSDS/SDS sheets, etc.) to meet import/export and customs requirements across multiple countries.
- Monitor container availability, vessel schedules, and port congestion to proactively manage shipment timelines and minimize demurrage/detention costs
- Identify and troubleshoot issues related to cargo damage, quality claims, delays, or documentation discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of trade compliance, tariffs, and regulatory changes affecting international fertilizer shipping.
- Enter and maintain accurate shipment data in SAP, including purchase orders, sales orders, delivery schedules, and container/vessel details for international fertilizer shipments
- Create and update SAP transport orders and shipment documents, ensuring alignment with bills of lading, packing lists, and customs paperwork.
- Track and reconcile shipment status, container numbers, and delivery milestones within SAP and Excel to maintain accurate real-time visibility for internal teams.
- Input and update material master and batch data in SAP for fertilizer products, ensuring accurate quantities, weights, and packaging details.
- Process goods receipt and goods issue transactions in SAP tied to inbound/outbound container movements.
- Collaborate with Finance and Supply Chain teams to ensure SAP data supports accurate landed cost calculations for imported fertilizer shipments.
Minimum Qualifications (required)
- High School diploma or GED
- 3+ years of experience in commodity based Supply Chain and/or Transportation and Logistics
- Experience with data input and coordination
Additional Qualifications
- Experience with SAP
- Proficient in MS Office suite
- Agricultural logistics coordination and/or liquid/container logistics experience
Pay: $30.00 – $45.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
