LOGISTICS ANALYST I
Position Objective
Review and process Freight invoices, railcar rental invoices, railcar demurrage charges on time to ensure Formosa maintains good credit
Maintain Railcar fleet file and ensure data accuracy across multiple systems.
Provide system and analytical capabilities for development of Logistics, distribution, and transportation in support of department initiatives.
Assist in preparing railcar property Tax filings of each state and process payments on time.
Provide support to all aspects of the department as needed.
Major Areas of Accountability
Payments – Routinely checks, investigates, processes, and monitors payment of freight invoices, railcar rental invoices, and storage yard invoices
Operations – Work with plant railcar shop on railcar diversions/dispositions for regular maintenance
Analysis- Retrieves historical data and performs rate analysis upon request
Reports/Budgets – Prepare department monthly report and Annual Transrail/ Dept. budget.
System- Initiates and coordinates the system improvement requests from plant railcar shop and within the Logistics Dept
Tax- Assist Railcar property tax filing preparation. Need to be familiar with each state filing forms and stay informed of tax policy updates. Keep track of filing status and ensure every state’s railcar property taxes are filed and paid on time.
Any other projects and/or work assigned by the Manager and/or the Director of Logistics Management Department
QUALIFICATIONS
Preferably with Transportation/logistics related experience, which includes rail operations, asset administration, rate experience, and knowledge of the other modes
Ability to manage, analyze and communicate analyses of numerous overlapping spreadsheets and scenarios
Bachelor’s Degree (Business or supply chain preferred)
Good analytical, verbal and written skills. Must have working knowledge of MS Office, must be proficient in Excel
