Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Shuttle Driver to join our team.
Shuttle Truck Drivers will handle local deliveries. The responsibilities of this position include transporting goods, maintaining the truck in good operating condition, planning routes, following delivery schedules, documenting work and rest periods, and loading and unloading goods. Safe driving, customer service and attention to detail are also required skills. A standard work week typically involves up to 50 hours, and depending on the schedule, there may be an expectation to be on call one Saturday every 3 weeks.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays off.
Job Duties:
· Responsible for the prompt delivery and good condition of the cargo.
· Maintain logs to record miles covered and hours travelled to ensure that all necessary documentation with respect to freight is filled and submitted.
· Able to communicate effectively with the dispatcher, supervisor, or clients.
· Report any accident incurred in the course of transporting the freight to the dispatcher and Safety immediately.
· Serve as a brand advocate and ambassador in every interaction with clients and the public.
· Conduct daily inspections of the tractor-trailer, and every trailer shuttled, daily and report any problems or damage to management immediately.
· Comply with all DOT and in-house regulations and rules.
· Ability to interpret, read, and write legibly in English.
· Other yard duties as required.
Job Qualifications:
· Must hold a Class A CDL.
· Minimum age of (22) years.
· Two (2) years of current over the road tractor and trailer driving experience.
· Meet all DOT regulations pertaining to driver qualifications and must have reasonable, comprehensive knowledge of FMCSA regulations pertaining to driver actions and responsibility.
· Must pass all DOT required physical exams and drug/ alcohol tests.
· Must be insurable and have no more than four (4) citations for moving violations and/or accidents within the past three (3) years.
Physical Requirements:
· Must be able to provide driver assist in loading and unloading of freight.
· Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at any given time.
· The ability to operate manual pallet jack and move pallets that could weigh up to 2000 pounds.
· Should be capable of climbing into the trailer to either sweep or blow it out.
