Position
Purpose:
The Medical Waste Route Driver services assigned accounts professionally, ensuring customer needs are met for waste pickup and supply delivery. This role emphasizes high-quality customer service and involves transporting waste to transfer or processing locations, using company vehicles equipped with cameras, ELD, and GPS.
Key Job
Activities:
Manage routes ensuring timely and safe waste pickup.
Transport waste safely according to regulations.
Plan daily schedules based on customer needs and route sheets.
Follow routing software schedules.
Prepare and load trucks, ensuring supplies are adequate.
Unload trucks at designated sites, securing waste properly.
Ensure waste is packaged according to regulations before transport.
Provide excellent customer service, communicating issues for resolution.
Secure waste, supplies, and equipment before operating the vehicle.
Complete all paperwork accurately and legibly.
Maintain DOT Driver Log as required.
Communicate route changes or issues to supervisors.
Perform vehicle pre-trip and post-trip maintenance and report problems.
Use ELD and Geotab systems for logging hours per DOT guidelines.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
Preferred High School diploma or equivalent. At least 6 months of experience in driving shred/box trucks and route management. Must be 21 or older, with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. Ability to obtain and maintain a Medical Examiner Card. Non-native English speakers must demonstrate sufficient English proficiency for safety and reporting.
