ZS TRANSPORTATION LLC is seeking 2 dependable Intermodal/Container CDLA truck drivers to join our team and support daily high-volume local freight operations with professionalism and care.
We are a small fleet of 14 trucks and we handle daily 20’/40’/45′ container deliveries.
Experience with intermodal/container work out of the Detroit rails (NS, CSX, CN, CPKC, etc) and also knowling/learning how to deal with intermodal equipment issues (various 20/40 chassis models) is a major plus.
We offer a paid training program (2 – 4 weeks) for drivers with no container / rail experience.
This role is ideal for experienced container CDL-A drivers who value structure, consistency, and reliability. We serve a pool of regular customers so being professional and delivering on time is key to providing a great service.
The pay is great and there are opportunities to work 55+ hours a week.
Pay starts at $27/hour and it increments to our payment structure after experience is gained. Training days are also paid (lower than normal hourly rate).
Pay is 1099 and drivers are averaging anywhere from $1650 – $2290+ weekly.
A typical work day starts at 4:00am – 5am and ends at 05:00pm – 06:00pm.
Weekend work is optional.
We value transparency, hard work, reliability, professionalism with the customers, and last but not least caring about our trucks and equipment. Our drivers have their own dedicated truck. Trucks are automatic 2016+ Volvo and Mack units (sleeper and daycabs).

Responsibilities on a daily basis:
Pre-Trip Inspection
Conduct a full inspection of the tractor and chassis to ensure DOT compliance and safety.
Verify container numbers, seals, and equipment readiness.
Pick-Up from Rail or Port
Drive to a designated rail yard or container terminal (e.g., NS or CSX).
Complete check-in, documentation, and container retrieval.
Secure load and inspect for damage or irregularities.
Local Delivery
Transport the container to a warehouse, distribution center, or customer facility within the Detroit metro area.
Communicate with dispatch on arrival and departure times.
Follow site-specific delivery procedures.
Container Drop or Live Unload
Drop container in designated area or wait for live unload.
Obtain proof of delivery (POD) and required signatures.
Return Moves
Return empty container or chassis to the designated depot or rail yard.
Pick up the next load, if applicable, for a second run.
Communication & Documentation
Stay in regular contact with dispatch via ELD or mobile.
Maintain accurate logs, BOLs, and delivery notes.
Report delays, issues, or safety concerns promptly.
Post-Trip Inspection
Final equipment check.
Submit reports for maintenance if needed.
Pay: $1,650.00 – $2,270.00 per week
