Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment safely and efficiently within designated routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to navigate various road types and conditions. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the integrity of the freight.
Duties
Safely operate a commercial vehicle to transport construction and rental equipment to customer job sites and between company locations.
Execute route driving to deliver goods to clients in a timely manner.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Load and unload equipment and materials.
Maintain documentation.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Requirements:
Valid CDL Class A license.
Clean driving record (MVR required).
Ability to operate flatbeds and/or roll-off trucks preferred.
Experience hauling construction or heavy equipment a plus.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
Strong time-management and customer service skills.
Ability to navigate tight mountain roads.
Skills
Proficient in driving pickup truck and trailer vehicles.
Experience operating heavy equipment is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of commercial driving regulations and safety standards.
Ability to perform route driving efficiently with minimal supervision.
Excellent time management skills to ensure timely deliveries.
Strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges encountered during transport.
Good communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
