Load Safety Checker
Location: Shotton, Flintshire, CH5 2NH – based on customer’s site
Hours per Week: Full-time, 40 hours, Monday to Friday (0930 to 1830 hrs)
Salary: £27,000-£28,000, depending on experience
Your Role
You will be part of a highly dedicated and professional team, consisting of Customer Service Representatives and Operational staff, based on our customer’s site at Shotton.
Key Responsibilities
As Load Safety Checker you will be responsible for ensuring compliance of visiting LGV road hauliers.
Next to this you will:
- Meet and greet incoming LGV haulier drivers, conduct site inductions and safety briefings
- Monitor and enforce Customer Load Safe and Load Restraint standards
- Supervise and control haulier drivers while on site, ensuring compliance with site safety procedures
- Prior to loading/unloading, conduct safety inspection of trailers
- Assist LGV drivers in preparing trailers for loading
- Prior to loads leaving site, confirm correct loading configuration and inspect restraint equipment
- Complete reports regarding non-conformance
Your Profile
- CCNSG Safety Passport qualification would be desirable
- Knowledge of H&S requirements and good practices in the road haulage industry, including an awareness of HSE legislative regulations
- Knowledge of LGV driver procedures and types of trailers
- Must have a full clean driving licence
- Good communication skills
- Flexible approach to the role and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Basic IT proficiency
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
