About Bluegrass Dedicated

Bluegrass Dedicated is a regional transportation provider built on safety, reliability, and customer service. Our people drive our success, and we foster a culture where every team member can grow and excel.

Why This Role Matters

As the first point of contact for our drivers each morning, you’ll build the daily plan that keeps freight moving on time and on budget. You’ll balance customer commitments with driver hours, equipment availability, and real-time changes—turning complexity into a smooth, efficient schedule.

What You’ll Do

Load Planning: Build efficient load plans in McLeod/TMS—matching drivers, equipment, and time windows to maximize utilization and meet customer delivery requirements.

Dispatch & Support: Release plans to drivers, monitor progress, and update ETAs. Provide clear, timely instructions and answer questions throughout the shift.

Route Optimization: Adjust routes on the fly to avoid delays, reduce empty miles, and control costs.

Issue Resolution: Triage late pickups, breakdowns, and last-minute customer changes; coordinate solutions with drivers, shops, and customers.

Data Accuracy: Enter updates in McLeod/TMS as events occur so colleagues and customers always see the latest status.

Safety & Compliance: Ensure every plan honors HOS rules, equipment specs, and company safety standards.

Customer Communication: Proactively notify customers of schedule changes and confirm delivery appointments.

Continuous Improvement: Track KPIs (on-time %, empty miles, cost per mile) and suggest ways to improve tomorrow’s plan.

What You Need to Bring

2+years in load planning, dispatching, or fleet coordination within a trucking environment.

Hands-on expertise with McLeod/TMS (or similar system) for planning, track-and-trace, and load tendering.

Solid grasp of HOS, DOT, and safety regulations.

Clear, confident phone and written communication—you’ll talk to drivers, shops, and customers all day.

Ability to multitask under pressure and prioritize quickly when conditions change.

Comfort with basic MS Office /Google Workspace tools for email, spreadsheets, and shared docs.

High school diploma required, college coursework in logistics or industry certifications a plus.

What we Offer

Full benefits package—medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with match, paid time off, life insurance, and much more.

Stability & growth in a company that invests in technology and its people.
