We’re working with a well-established aviation maintenance organisation seeking an experienced Lead Shipping Clerk to oversee day-to-day shipping operations within a busy engine MRO environment.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong shipping, logistics or warehouse experience who enjoys leading a small team while ensuring high-value aircraft components are shipped safely, accurately and in full compliance with aviation regulations.
The Role
You’ll take ownership of outbound shipping activities, ensuring engines, modules, aircraft parts and materials are packaged, documented and dispatched on time to support production schedules and customer commitments.
Working closely with Production, Quality, Materials and Customer Support teams, you’ll play a key role in maintaining efficient operations and ensuring all shipments meet aviation quality and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead daily shipping operations for aircraft engines, modules and components.
- Prepare and verify shipping documentation including packing lists, commercial invoices, air waybills and export paperwork.
- Coordinate outbound shipments with freight forwarders, couriers and logistics providers.
- Ensure compliance with aviation regulations and export control requirements, including traceability of serialized components.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy, packaging quality and damage prevention.
- Maintain accurate records within the company’s ERP system.
- Support inventory movements and material handling where required.
- Train, mentor and provide day-to-day guidance to shipping team members.
- Identify opportunities to improve shipping processes, turnaround times and operational efficiency.
About You
We’re looking for someone who has:
- At least 3 years’ experience within shipping, receiving or logistics.
- Previous experience in an aviation, aerospace or engine MRO environment (highly desirable).
- Knowledge of aviation documentation, quality procedures and export compliance (FAA, ITAR/EAR or similar).
- Experience using ERP systems such as Quantum or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of packaging requirements for high-value or sensitive equipment.
- Excellent organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- The confidence to lead, train and support a small team in a fast-paced environment.
