A freight forwarder coordinates import or export shipments on behalf of shippers. A single international shipment can involve several transportation methods and vendors. The freight forwarder consolidates and streamlines this process to deliver an efficient and cost-effective service to their clients.
● Provide accurate, timely, and proactive customer service to the company’s clients as well as effectively communicate and coordinate with internal departments and third parties to meet customer needs
● Process simple and complex freight forwarding services, while following all government regulations and abiding by company policies and procedures
● Obtain service quotations and optimize costs
● Arrange timely and accurate scheduling of hazardous and non-hazardous ocean and/or air bookings
● Coordinate customs brokerage
● Ensure the complete and timely transfer of cargo (pick up, delivery, etc.)
● Prepare, assemble, and process shipment documentation and billing through the company’s designated system(s) and obtain any required shipment release(s)
