Position Overview
We are looking for an organized, detail-oriented International Logistics Specialist to manage the import of ingredients, packaging, and raw materials essential to our production. This hourly position is responsible for coordinating inbound shipments, ensuring proper documentation, and maintaining communication with suppliers, freight forwarders, and internal teams to avoid delays and minimize costs.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate international inbound shipments from overseas suppliers to U.S. facilities.
Manage and track all import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, customs entries, etc.).
Communicate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and suppliers to ensure timely delivery and customs clearance.
Monitor and track container and freight movements, providing updates to internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with U.S. import regulations, including FDA, USDA, and CBP requirements for food and packaging materials.
Work closely with the purchasing and production teams to align delivery schedules with manufacturing needs.
Maintain accurate records of shipments, freight charges, and customs duties for internal reporting and audits.
Assist in identifying opportunities to improve cost efficiency, lead times, and overall logistics performance.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
1–2 years of experience in international logistics, import coordination, or supply chain required.
Familiarity with U.S. import regulations and customs procedures strongly preferred.
Knowledge of Incoterms and international shipping documentation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and Outlook); experience with ERP or supply chain systems is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Work Environment
Office-based role with regular interaction with warehouse and procurement teams.
Schedule: Monday – Friday 8am-5pm, with occasional flexibility based on shipment arrivals or customs issues.
