Job Summary: Coordinate with minimal supervision international logistics operations between overseas vendors and System Component SY as well as direct shipments to customers outside the USA.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish efficient logistics routes and processes to ensure Rasco material is being transported in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Establish and maintain relationships with a network of freight forwarders, customs brokers, freight brokers to allow rapid adaptability to the changes in the freight market.
Proactively manage document coordination between forwarders, brokers, vendors, and customers.
Review documents to verify accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
Coordinate drayage operations with a focus on avoiding unnecessary fees and increasing cost efficiency.
Coordinate delivery of containers with the SY warehouse staff as well as providing the packing list and supporting documents.
Organize bookings for containers once Procurement has confirmed the order and the vendor has provided an estimated completion date.
Maintain the logistics log with up-to-date information on open container orders including tracking landed costs by shipment.
Coordinate and monitor air shipment of orders to customers or our distribution centers.
Provide estimated lead times on back-ordered material to the SY Operations Supervisor and expediate material as needed.
Monitor and execute blind shipments to customers, typically blind FOB terms. Including resolving any customs document issues and/or ensure clear communication of details between our sales staff, vendor, broker, customers origin agent and etc.
Coordinate export shipments with SY Warehouse as needed, including export documentation such as commercial invoices and packaging lists.
Review freight invoices for discrepancies and/or follow up with forwarders on questionable/unclear charges.
Organize invoices from vendors and freight forwarders with Accounts Payable.
Promote a safe workplace by performing all tasks in a safe and thoughtful manner in compliance with all rules, procedures, instructions, devices, equipment and use of appropriate personal protective equipment. Maintain vigilance for any hazardous conditions or practices in the workplace and immediately report any unsafe condition or practice to your supervisor.

Skills:

Knowledge of international logistics specifically ocean freight and intermodal shipping.
Knowledge of Incoterms and document flow for customs.
Demonstrates an understanding of various types of freight and delivery processes
Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP Systems
Logistics or Supply Chain certificate desired

Work Environment:

Works primarily in a climate-controlled environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential

Physical Demands:

Ability to be punctual and attend work on a regular and consistent basis
Occasionally will be expected to lift large materials not to exceed 40 pounds

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain and/or logistics is desired or equivalent years of experience.
5 + years’ experience in international logistics
Ideally experience with organizing logistics originating from Asia.
