Job Summary

The primary responsibility of the International Logistics Analyst is to assist the department with minimizing risk while ensuring full compliance with laws and regulations. This role organizes and oversees Diversitech’s international shipments to internal and external clients. The International Logistics Analyst serves as the company’s authority on documentation and procedures essential for expediting the flow of international shipments. A successful candidate must embrace challenges, change management, and personal and professional development opportunities, as the company expands through organic and inorganic growth.

As a member of the Transportation team, the International Logistics Analyst will support the import/export management team by ensuring import/export compliance with the regulations of the U.S. Department of Commerce, State, Customs, and other government agencies. Additionally, this position will identify solutions to overcome trade issues.

Essential Duties

Processes all company import and export shipments meticulously, guaranteeing compliance with regulations and precision in documentation. This involves collaboration with Customs brokers, international freight forwarders, carriers, and internal departments.
Maintains and enforces the company’s U.S. Customs Import/Export compliance Program.
Ensures processes and personnel engaged in the import and export of materials, parts, and products adhere to US Customs regulations and documentation prerequisites.
Maintains Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and HAZMAT IMDG codes, while also creating, revising, and upholding NAFTA and CAFTA Certificates of Origin (COO) annually and as needed, ensuring adherence to US Customs regulations.
Provides updates and guidance on government regulations, policies, and guidelines set by government agencies.
Collaborates with global suppliers to ensure accuracy in import and export paperwork and to choose appropriate transportation modes.
Audits invoices from freight forwarders, brokers, and carriers to guarantee precision, furnishing the manager with audit verification to facilitate invoice approval.
Communicates and processes documents with warehousing and logistics regarding order routings, status updates, consolidation opportunities, and shipping dates.
Cultivates robust internal and external working relationships while exhibiting tact in handling confidential information.
Serves as a backup resource in the logistics department during periods of staff vacations and increased seasonal demand.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements

Required
Bachelor’s degree in International Trade/Logistics, Supply Chain, Engineering or related field
Certification in Domestic (CFR49) and International (IMDG) HAZMAT certification, or the capability to obtain certification
3 – 5 years of experience with Trade Compliance
3 – 5 years of experience in international transportation, logistics, and distribution
2 – 4 years of experience in HAZMAT documentation and shipping
2 – 4 years of experience in Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classification goods and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN)
Experience in IMDG and IATA
Experience with Oracle JD Edwards or other ERP systems
Proficiency in USMCA, CAFTA and Certificate of Origin documentation
Proficiency in data analytics including data mining and report generation
Knowledge of Manufacturing, Sourcing, Sales, and Logistics processes
Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment.
Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in an efficient manner
Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, PowerBI, PowerPoint).
Proactive “self-starter” with a strong attention to detail
Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, enabling effective interaction with employees on all levels, including executive leadership

Preferred
Certification as a Licensed Customs Broker (LCB), Certified Customs Specialist (CSS), Certified U.S. Export Compliance Officer, or similar accreditations
JDE ERP and Crystal reporting experience
