Role Purpose
The ideal candidate is Fun, Caring, Kind, Persistent and has excellent Listening skills. Responsible for all duties and tasks regarding a client’s movement of freight from foreign countries into the United States. The Import Specialist is the single point of contact within Reilly for the client they support. This position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Reporting Structure
This role will report to the Import Team Leader.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
- Coordinate air and ocean shipments from beginning to end
- Consistent updating of status of client’s shipments.
- Working with clients, carriers, and warehouses to resolve issues with shipments
- Ensuring timely updates or shipment details and updating system timely to meet deadlines
- Basic Knowledge and understanding of U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule
- Understanding of Customs Clearance Process per US Customs standards within operating system
- Basic knowledge and understanding of FDA requirements
- Basic Knowledge and understanding of PGAs
- Knowledge and ability to create quotes for existing clients
- Proper and timely cost review and invoicing of clients
- Ensuring on time delivery of cargo
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
What you bring:
- Two years’ experience in a brokerage or freight forwarding role
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, Teams)
- Working knowledge of CargoWise One
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Well organized, disciplined, and motivated
- Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Resourceful
- Decisive, thorough and detail oriented
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborative team player who contributes positively to team objectives
Inter-relationships: As the designated single point of contact, the Import Specialist may collaborate with all levels of personnel within the client company, its agents, vendors and customers. You will occasionally have Video calls in support of your clients.
Working conditions: Work is performed on site at Reilly International offices, there may be instances where you may work beyond normal operating hours. There may be instances where you travel to client locations.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 – $59,000.00 per year
