Role Description The Import Specialist is a full-time hybrid role based in Plantation, FL, with flexibility for some work-from-home arrangements. This role is responsible for coordinating and managing import shipments from origin to destination, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations and company policies. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and reviewing import documentation, working with carriers, customs brokers, and vendors, and monitoring shipment status to secure on-time delivery. The Import Specialist will communicate with customers to provide shipment updates, resolve issues, and ensure a high level of service. The role also involves maintaining accurate records, updating internal systems, and collaborating with internal teams to improve processes and support overall logistics operations.
Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in Import and Import Export processes.
  • Understanding of Export requirements and International Trade regulations and best practices.
  • Proven Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with clients and partners.
  • Attention to detail in handling documentation, data entry, and compliance-related tasks.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with logistics, shipping, or ERP systems and common office software (e.g., Excel, Word, email tools).
  • Experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or international logistics is beneficial.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, International Business, or a related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
