*** Salary range: 10- 15M gross
**** Job Purpose:

Responsible for building, negotiating, and managing competitive import sea freight rates with overseas agents and carriers, ensuring accurate and timely pricing support for the Sales team to win and retain import business.

*** Key Responsibilities:

  • Request, negotiate, and secure competitive freight rates (FCL/LCL) from overseas agents, shipping lines, and NVOCCs for import shipments from key trade lanes.
  • Prepare and issue accurate import rate quotations to the Sales team within agreed turnaround time (TAT).
  • Maintain and regularly update the import rate database/cost sheet, ensuring validity periods, surcharges (THC, CIC, PSS, GRI, etc.), and local charges are current and accurate.
  • Monitor market rate trends, freight index movements, and carrier/agent GRI or PSS announcements; proactively alert Sales and Management on rate fluctuations affecting costing.
  • Benchmark OPL’s pricing against competitors to ensure market competitiveness while protecting margins.
  • Coordinate with the Overseas Agent Development/Sales team to expand and strengthen the overseas agent network for import cross-trade opportunities.
  • Support Sales in preparing costing for tenders/RFQs and special project cargo as needed.
  • Liaise with Operations/Customer Service to ensure smooth handover of confirmed bookings, resolving cost discrepancies between quoted and actual charges.
  • Prepare periodic reports on rate requests, win/loss ratio, and pricing performance for Management review.
  • Maintain proper documentation and traceability of all rate negotiations and agent communications.

*** Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime, Foreign Trade, Economics, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in sea freight pricing, forwarding, or a related pricing/costing role (forwarder-side experience preferred).
  • Solid understanding of FCL/LCL import processes, freight cost structures, and local/overseas charges.
  • Strong negotiation skills with overseas agents and carriers.
  • Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel); experience with freight/pricing management systems is a plus.
  • Good command of English (both written and verbal) for daily communication with overseas agents.
  • Detail-oriented, well-organized, and able to work under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional coordination skills (working closely with Sales, Operations, and CS teams).
