Import & Logistics Specialist – Ocean Shipping
We are seeking an experienced Import & Logistics Specialist to manage international ocean freight shipments, customs coordination, and supply chain logistics. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and experienced in handling import operations from overseas suppliers to U.S. destinations.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and track international ocean shipments from origin to final delivery
- Communicate with overseas vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers to preview proper documentation for dealing with customs broker on invoices/packing lists/ISF filing., local trucking coordination
- Monitor shipment schedules, delays, and inventory arrival timelines
- Manage shipping records
- Maintain accurate logistics and shipment data in company systems
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–5 years experience in import/export logistics or ocean freight operations
- Strong knowledge of ocean shipping procedures and international trade documentation
- Experience working with customs brokers and freight forwarders
- Familiarity with HTS classifications, tariffs, and customs compliance preferred
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and ERP/shipping systems
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Skills
- Experience importing from Asia/China
- Knowledge of U.S. import duties and customs procedures
- Bilingual skills are a plus
