A well-established international logistics organization is seeking an experienced Supply Chain Operations Manager – Import (Ocean & Air) to lead U.S. import operations within its freight forwarding and NVOCC division. This confidential role oversees end-to-end ocean and air import execution, compliance, and team performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle import operations (FCL, LCL, air freight, consolidated & special cargo)
- Oversee documentation including HBL/MBL, AMS, ISF (10+2), arrival notices, and delivery orders
- Ensure compliance with CBP, TSA, bonded cargo, and U.S. import regulations
- Lead and mentor the import operations team; set KPIs and performance standards
- Resolve shipment delays, customs issues, and carrier exceptions proactively
- Develop and improve SOPs and operational workflows
- Utilize CargoWise for shipment processing, reporting, and data integrity
- Collaborate with Sales, Accounting, overseas agents, and carriers
Qualifications
- 5+ years in freight forwarding / NVOCC import operations (ocean & air)
- 2+ years in a supervisory or management role
- Advanced proficiency in CargoWise (required)
- Strong knowledge of AMS, ISF, CBP, TSA, and bonded cargo procedures
- Mandarin Chinese (required) and English fluency
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage high-volume operations under tight deadlines
