Job Summary

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Import/Export Logistics Specialist to join our onsite team in, NC. In this dynamic role, you will oversee the end-to-end management of international and domestic shipments, ensuring compliance with trade regulations, optimizing transportation processes, and maintaining seamless supply chain operations. Your expertise will drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction by coordinating across multiple departments and external partners. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a fast-paced logistics environment where your skills in data analysis, procurement, and warehouse management will make a significant impact.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate domestic and international shipments via ocean, truck, air, and parcel carriers.
  • Manage inbound and outbound ocean freight and container movements.
  • Coordinate import and export activities, including documentation, customs compliance, and trade regulations adherence to ensure smooth international shipments.
  • Manage transportation planning and freight forwarding processes utilizing transportation management systems (TMS) and ERP platforms such as SAP or AS400.
  • Collaborate with vendors, steamship lines, suppliers, 3PL providers, and internal teams to optimize sourcing strategies, negotiate contracts, and improve overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Conduct root cause analysis on shipment delays or discrepancies to identify process improvements and implement corrective actions.
  • Utilize data analysis skills with tools like SQL, Excel, and Tableau to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), analyze inventory levels, and support demand planning initiatives.
  • Oversee warehouse operations related to shipping & receiving, materials handling, inventory control, and stocking procedures within warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade documentation requirements for import/export activities while practicing in a supply chain operations role.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field.
  • 3+ years of transportation or logistics experience.
  • Experience coordinating both domestic and international shipments.
  • Experience with: Ocean freight, Domestic LTL/FTL transportation, Import/Export logistics, Freight forwarding, and Third-Party Logistics Providers (3PLs)
  • Experience working with freight carriers and transportation vendors.
  • Strong Excel and ERP skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
