As an integral part of a strong import team the successful candidate will work closely with the local Import Manager.
Job Description
The successful applicant will be responsible for part managing the import process in our Dublin office, while maintaining a strong customer service level to ensure our import clients receive the high level of service, they expect from MSC.
We believe the successful Import Customer Service Executive should have the following skills:
Shipping experience is desirable
Proven track record in customer service
Excellent organisational skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines
High level of computer literacy, with good working knowledge of current Microsoft applications
Understanding of the importance of original bills
Good geographical awareness
The key tasks for the Import Customer Service Executive are as follows:
Point of contact with local import customers to handle import shipments from arrival to release
Ensuring all appropriate paperwork is received prior to releasing the import containers, including customs, hazardous etc. paperwork.
Liaising with our customer regarding EU shipment deliveries
Placing bookings and liaising with the POL and our commercial team for locally captured import business
Generating reports prior to the vessel arriving to capture the types of import containers such as details on reefer containers, hazardous containers etc.
Liaise with the local reefer engineers to ensure the correct management of our import reefer containers on discharge
Invoicing non-credit customers for local and freight charges, and liaise with the accounts department to ensure payment is collected prior to release of the associated containers
Advise the customers regarding reefer, storage, and demurrage charges where relevant. Provide this information to our accounts department also for billing.
Educate smaller, new customers regarding the import process
Cover colleagues during periods of leave
Ad-hoc duties that may be assigned by the import manager
