Import Agent Jobs in Hoofddorp, North Holland, Netherlands at More Recruitment

Title: Import Agent

Company: More Recruitment

Location: Hoofddorp, North Holland, Netherlands

Are you an experienced import agent or forwarder seeking a more comprehensive role? Due to a colleague’s departure, we are looking for an import specialist. In this all-round position, you will be responsible for organizing import shipments for national and international clients daily. You’ll manage everything from start to finish, maintaining regular contact with customers, carriers, and shipping companies. Your expertise and well-organized approach ensure timely deliveries (LCL / FCL). That’s your role!

You Get It Done

Thanks to your efforts and those of your 20 colleagues in the import department, you ensure that customers’ import shipments are handled properly and on time. Delivered sustainably, at the right rate, and according to customer agreements—you contribute to all of this.

How You Do This

On average, each team member processes around 100 shipments per month. It’s demanding work, but there’s a lot of camaraderie in our import department. From Monday to Friday, you’ll actively handle bookings and manage shipments from departure to delivery. You are the first point of contact for customers, handling inquiries and addressing delivery issues. With your knowledge of T1 forms and customs clearance, you are familiar with customs matters, even if you only have a basic understanding. Data processing is also part of the job as everything needs to be organized and complete in the system. Lastly, you also handle billing and invoicing because all that hard work needs to be accounted for. You thrive in this all-round role by:

Accepting and processing bookings, managing data, and handling customer invoicing;

Checking booking documentation according to Incoterms and customer instructions;

Providing instructions to the customs department for preparing T1 documents and customs clearance;

Identifying delivery discrepancies and keeping customers updated on shipments via phone and email;

Maintaining customer contact to proactively address needs, opportunities, and complaints.

Your team is the largest department at the Dordrecht location. You will work in a fun and diverse group of 20 colleagues who are well-coordinated. This is why a team player is a welcome addition. Moreover, there is a strong sense of enjoyment in the team; communication lines are short, and it’s okay if you still have things to learn. We are always looking for talent and ambition!

You Bring

At least an MBO working and thinking level;

Several years of work experience in a role as a forwarder, import or export agent, freight forwarder, or logistics administrative assistant. Knowledge of LCL and FCL is preferred;

Proficiency in Dutch and English is essential, as this role involves extensive (international) customer contact via email and phone.
