Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Local Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely within designated routes. This role requires a strong understanding of various types of vehicles, including flatbed trucks, refrigerated trailers, and dump trucks. The Local Driver will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries while adhering to all safety regulations.
Duties
Operate various types of vehicles, including hopper trailers and Belt trailers.
Execute route driving to deliver freight to designated locations in a timely manner.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
Manage loading and unloading of cargo in a safe and legal manner.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including electronic logs of mileage and fuel consumption.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
Requirements
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Experience in truck driving, particularly with 6 and 7 axle units with hopper and belt trailer operations.
Proficiency in operating manual and automatic transmission vehicles is preferred, but can work with auto restrictions on a case by case basis
Familiarity with agricultural driving and freight handling procedures.
Ability to self motivate
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well independently as well as part of a team.
Must be able to pass any required background checks or drug screenings.

Pay: $24.00 – $26.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 – 60 per week
