Head – Supply Chain Planning & Operational Excellence Jobs in Thane, Maharashtra, India at Taglynk

Title: Head – Supply Chain Planning & Operational Excellence

Company: Taglynk

Location: Thane, Maharashtra, India

About the role:

We are looking for a strong and hands-on supply chain leader to own end-to-end supply chain planning, inventory management, logistics, factory coordination, vendor operations, and operational excellence.

This role is ideal for someone who can combine strategic thinking with strong execution. The person will be responsible for building a scalable planning and supply chain system across demand forecasting, raw material readiness, production visibility, finished goods availability, freight movement, and channel replenishment.

The business operates across multiple channels, factories, vendors, countries, and a complex assortment of 2,500+ SKUs. We are looking for a leader who can bring structure, visibility, ownership, and discipline into the supply chain function while also building the team and processes required for future growth.

This is a high-ownership role where the person will work closely with leadership, factory teams, logistics partners, vendors, data/BI teams, and internal business teams

Key Responsibilities:

Supply Chain Planning and Inventory Management

  • Own the rolling demand and supply planning process at SKU, size, color, and channel level.
  • Convert demand forecasts into clear supply plans covering raw material, fabric, production, finished goods, and shipments.
  • Build and improve model stock logic by SKU tier, sales velocity, channel, lead time, and service-level requirement.
  • Identify stock-out risks, overstock risks, raw material shortages, and production gaps before they impact sales.
  • Track inventory health across days on hand, slow-moving stock, excess inventory, in-transit inventory, and channel-level availability.
  • Improve the balance between high in-stock availability and controlled inventory investment.
  • Lead weekly and monthly planning reviews covering demand, supply readiness, inventory risks, and action plans.

Factory, Vendor & Raw Material Planning

  • Work closely with owned factory teams, third-party factories, fabric vendors, and suppliers to ensure supply commitments are aligned with business requirements.
  • Build visibility across the complete supply chain flow — greige fabric, dyeing, processing, ready fabric, production, packed finished goods, and in-transit inventory.
  • Translate sales demand into raw material and fabric requirements by construction, color, size, and timeline.
  • Improve production and dyeing sequencing so supply decisions are closer to actual demand signals.
  • Build stronger vendor planning discipline through scorecards, follow-ups, delivery tracking, and performance reviews.
  • Develop preferred vendor programs and buffer-stock planning for critical materials and high-volume SKUs.
  • Ensure vendor, factory, and supply commitments are clearly documented, tracked, and reviewed.

Logistics, Freight & Channel Replenishment

  • Own logistics planning and execution across international freight, domestic movement, warehouse routing, and marketplace replenishment.
  • Build a structured sea vs. air decision framework based on cost, urgency, availability, and business impact.
  • Manage shipment planning from factory/vendor to warehouse, 3PL, Amazon FBA, Walmart WFS, Target, and other marketplace channels.
  • Improve visibility on shipment status, container planning, port delays, expected arrival dates, and replenishment timelines.
  • Work with freight forwarders, customs brokers, 3PLs, and internal teams to improve delivery reliability and reduce avoidable delays.
  • Build a freight cost-per-unit baseline and drive cost reduction through better planning, routing, consolidation, and carrier/vendor coordination.
  • Own planning and optimization for Amazon and marketplace-related supply chain programs where applicable.
  • Reduce avoidable marketplace penalties and fees related to low inventory, excess inventory, aged inventory, late shipments, and poor replenishment planning.

Systems, Data & Process Excellence

  • Partner with the data science / BI team to build supply chain dashboards, planning tools, and exception-based reporting.
  • Define the business logic required for automated planning, weekly order generation, inventory alerts, and replenishment triggers.
  • Create a single source of truth for inventory, open POs, production status, raw material readiness, vendor commitments, shipment status, and channel availability.
  • Improve current spreadsheets and manual trackers into cleaner, repeatable, and scalable processes.
  • Build reporting around forecast accuracy, in-stock rate, inventory health, vendor OTIF, factory readiness, logistics performance, and freight cost.
  • Use data to move the organization from reactive follow-up to proactive planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning, vendor coordination, logistics, reporting, and execution cadence.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in supply chain planning, inventory planning, demand planning, S&OP, logistics, factory planning, or supply chain operations.
  • Strong experience in home textiles, apparel, softlines, FMCG, consumer products, retail, or e-commerce-led businesses.
  • Experience managing high SKU complexity, long lead times, multiple vendors, and multi-channel replenishment.
  • Strong understanding of how demand forecasts convert into raw material, production, finished goods, and logistics plans.
  • Experience working with factories, vendors, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouses, 3PLs, and internal business teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced Excel / Google Sheets.
  • Comfortable working with BI dashboards, planning systems, ERP tools, and data teams.
  • Experience leading teams while staying hands-on in execution.
  • Ability to build structure, processes, and ownership in a fast-moving business environment.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience in bedding, home textiles, fabric-led manufacturing, garments, or soft goods.
  • Experience with Amazon FBA, marketplace inventory planning, e-commerce replenishment, or retail channel supply chains.
  • Experience with S&OP, model stock planning, pull-based replenishment, vendor scorecards, or demand/supply review processes.
  • Exposure to international sourcing, ocean freight, customs, air freight, warehouse planning, and 3PL operations.
  • Experience building dashboards, planning tools, operating reviews, or process automation with BI/data teams.
