My client is on the lookout for an experienced Head of Supply Chain to join their team on a permanent basis in Galway.
The Job:
- Role Overview: Lead, optimize, and integrate all supply chain activities across the organization-including demand and supply planning, procurement, materials management, logistics, warehousing, and customer order fulfillment-for a dual portfolio of human and veterinary health pharmaceutical products.
- Location: Onsite at a facility in Loughrea, Ireland (with hybrid policy consideration applicable only after the successful completion of a probationary period).
- Strategic Leadership & S&OP: Develop and execute global supply chain strategies aligned with manufacturing goals; lead Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes to align Production, Quality, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial functions.
- Planning & Materials Management: Oversee demand planning, master production scheduling (MPS), and capacity planning; lead strategic sourcing for APIs, excipients, and packaging materials while managing vendor risk, compliance, and cost-saving initiatives.
- Logistics & Distribution: Oversee warehousing, inventory control, and finished goods distribution (including specialized cold chain and controlled drug logistics) while optimizing freight and international trade routes.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure strict adherence to GMP, GDP, HPRA, EMA, and FDA regulatory frameworks; maintain data integrity, traceability, and batch release alignment, and actively support internal and regulatory audits.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, establishing a culture of accountability and tracking performance through critical KPIs (including OTIF, forecast accuracy, inventory turns, cost-to-serve, and S&OP maturity).
Have You:
- Education: Earned a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Industry Experience: Accumulated a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical or life sciences supply chain leadership roles.
- Regulatory Expertise: Developed an in-depth, hands-on knowledge of GMP, GDP, and international regulatory compliance frameworks.
- Network Management: Proven your ability to successfully manage global suppliers, vendor performance, and complex international logistics networks.
- Technical & Analytical Systems: Demonstrated strong analytical capabilities alongside deep experience utilizing major ERP/MRP systems (such as SAP or Oracle).
- Core Competencies: Cultivated excellent stakeholder management skills, strong financial acumen for data-driven decisions, and a strategic mindset that can seamlessly translate into operational execution.
- Leadership Style: Established yourself as a resilient, collaborative leader who is passionate about driving continuous improvement, lean initiatives, and digital transformation in pharma operations.
