We’re on the lookout for a dynamic Head of Supply Chain to lead, manage, and coordinate our supply function—ensuring the timely provision of high-quality materials at optimal costs.In this pivotal role, you’ll spearhead strategic initiatives that enhance network efficiency, reduce business costs, and boost member profitability—delivering lasting value to the Mitre 10 cooperative.As a key member of our Leadership Team, you’ll shape organisational culture, execute strategy, and align cross-functional goals within our Merchandise function. You’ll bring vision, leadership, and a commitment to excellence—setting objectives that drive results while fostering collaboration and innovation.Reporting to the Chief Merchandise Officer, you’ll be responsible for but not limited to:
Team Empowerment: Inspire and align your team with the company vision—helping them connect their roles to strategic initiatives through clear OKRs and KPIs.
Supply Chain Strategy: Design and optimise distribution networks, inventory management, and procurement strategies, ensuring efficiency within the agreed cash flow budget.
Supplier & Partner Management: Build strong relationships with key supply chain partners and suppliers, securing high-value contracts at the best possible cost.
Market Insights & Risk Management: Stay ahead of market trends and emerging technologies, leveraging insights to minimize risk and maximize opportunities.
Operational Excellence: Oversee and enhance controls for sourcing, procurement, conversion, logistics, and storage, ensuring seamless operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Develop communication strategies that educate stakeholders, drive engagement, and align teams with strategic intent.
Process & Compliance: Implement robust processes and systems to mitigate risks, ensure inventory accuracy, and meet legal compliance.
Performance Metrics: Define and track KPIs, providing clear insights into supply chain performance.
Health & Safety Leadership: Champion safety protocols across the supply chain (e.g., trucks, forklifts) in collaboration with Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
Skills Required:
Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and drive high-performing teams within a complex supply chain environment.
5+ years in a senior operational or managerial role, with expertise across planning, distribution centres, or transport logistics.
Ability to demonstrate capabilities to implement Supply Chain Road maps.
Strong commercial awareness with a strategic mindset
