Overview
To perform duties relevant to the processing of shipments in accordance with Canadian Customs and other government departments regulations and legislation. To provide accurate information and assistance to customers requiring international shipment information.
Qualifications
High school diploma/educational equivalent.
Canadian Customs Specialist or CSCB qualified.
One (1) year (full‑time) experience required (Fed Ex preferred) with basic knowledge of Canadian Customs Regulations related to international operations.
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
PC skills – basic level of proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must achieve a minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha‑numeric testing.
Strong mathematical and computer aptitude required.
Ability to successfully complete Introduction to Clearance within first (3) months.
Good understanding of Fed Ex products, features of service, general options.
Incumbents must maintain their CCS designation and achieve annual re‑currency points.
Must be able to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment at ports YQG, YOW, YEG, YWG, YYC, YMX.
In Quebec, must be bilingual (English and French).
Technical Skills
Good mathematical and computer aptitude required.
Knowledge of customs rules and regulations.
Knowledge of clearance systems preferred.
Basic level proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Minimum of 25 wpm on data entry alpha‑numeric testing preferred.
