Summary: The Global Trade Compliance & Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant import activities while supporting the Company’s Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations and duty optimization programs. This position serves as a subject matter resource for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, import compliance, tariff classification, customs valuation, country of origin determinations, and FTZ administration. The position works closely with Sourcing, Logistics, Finance, Operations, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and regulatory agencies to minimize compliance risk and support efficient global trade operations.

Essential Functions:

  • Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations, applicable import requirements, and Company trade compliance policies.
  • Review import documentation, customs entries, broker instructions, and related records for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
  • Review Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) classifications, customs valuation analyses, and country of origin determinations.
  • Administer and support Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) activities, including admissions, transfers, inventory management, withdrawals, reconciliations, and any other FTZ transactions.
  • Maintain accurate FTZ inventory records and ensure applicable inventory control and recordkeeping requirements are met in accordance to CBP.
  • Maintain accurate trade-related information within master data, including HTS classifications, country of origin, valuation information, tariff indicators, FTZ status, supplier information, and broker instructions.
  • Conduct pre-import compliance reviews for new products, suppliers, and sourcing changes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of trade-related information within ERP systems, trade management platforms, and CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) systems.
  • Monitor FTZ Transactions, identify discrepancies or compliance concerns, and coordinate appropriate corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain reports and metrics to monitor trade compliance performance and identify opportunities for process improvement.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Research and resolve data discrepancies of FTZ TRANSACTIONS
  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding trade compliance requirements related to sourcing changes, new products, product launches, and supply chain initiatives.
  • Support customs audits, FTZ audits, compliance reviews, reconciliations, disclosures, and other regulatory activities as needed.
  • Identify opportunities to improve FTZ utilization, duty savings, and overall trade compliance.
  • Stay current on applicable changes to CBP regulations, tariff requirements, FTZ regulations, and other relevant trade requirements.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Required Physical and Environmental Demands:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and, as needed, in a manufacturing and warehouse environment.
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, and move throughout the facility as required to perform job responsibilities.
  • Ability to use a computer, telephone, and other standard office equipment for extended periods.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with employees, management, vendors, customs brokers, freight forwarders, and other business partners.
  • Ability to comply with applicable Company safety requirements and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements when working in manufacturing or warehouse areas.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, International Trade, Logistics, Finance, or a related field.
  • An equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience may be considered.
  • Active U.S. Customs Broker License required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in import compliance, customs brokerage, international trade, logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting or managing Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) operations preferred.
  • Experience working with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and government regulatory agencies.
  • Strong knowledge of HTSUS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determinations, CBP regulations, import compliance requirements, and FTZ regulations.
  • Working knowledge of CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) systems and processes.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate trade compliance requirements to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and analyze trade-related data.
  • Experience with SAP, Oracle, FTZ software, or other ERP and trade management systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of duty drawback, free trade agreements, and other duty reduction programs preferred.

Pay: $57,000.00 – $65,000.00 per year
