At RCS Logistics, we have a family-oriented environment and awesome culture! We are looking for talented new employees that are passionate about logistics and want to be part of our rapidly growing ocean division based in our Charlotte NC office. The Analyst of Global Ocean Operations will play a vital role in the overall success of the department, as he/she will also be involved in a variety of other areas related to the Ocean Product, such as: customer service, SOP creation, origin management, and carrier relationships. Whether you’re a recent college graduate with a degree in logistics, supply chain or other related fields; or you have some experience working in international or domestic logistics, supply chain, and/or transportation, we’d love to talk to you. We provide comprehensive training in all aspects of the role where you’ll learn or expand your knowledge of International Logistics. As an Ocean Operations Analyst, you’ll be involved in every aspect of the international supply chain and develop a terrific foundation for future growth and development!
This is a hybrid-remote work role: all applicants must be able to work from our Charlotte office 3 days per week.
RESPONSIBILTIES:Â
·    Primary point of contact for all operational aspects of ocean shipments, from Origin to Destination with both internal & external parties, such as: Origin Offices, Ocean Carriers, Customers, Brokers, and Draymen
·    Provide seamless operational customer service from origin to destination including dray activities
·    In collaboration with Pricing, Sales, and Key Account Management, he/she plays active role in building, maintaining, and growing the customer relationship
·    Ensure ocean department Operational & Financial KPI’s are monitored, and we meet or exceed goals for all accounts & trade lanes. Provide proactive analysis and suggest solutions for KPI’s in jeopardy of not meeting goals.
·    Maintain SOP (standard operating procedures) and customer profiles including key contacts, special requirements, contract rates and preferred routings/services/carriers.
·    Understand the relationship of data integrity and the downstream impacts; ability to utilize data to drive decisions, manage by exception, and provide appropriate solutions
·    Responsible for monitoring and tracking the movement FCL & LCL ocean shipments for RCS customers; ensuring proactive and prompt communication with customers.
·    Review and process documentation from customers (importers/exporters) and RCS offices worldwide, including Seaway Bills, Manifests, AMS/ISF, Customs requirements, etc.
·    Work with Customs Brokerage department and external brokerage firms to obtain Customs and/or other Government Releases
·    Coordinate the release of goods from the shipping line, rail terminal and /or CFS; arrange deliveries with drayage providers and customer’s destination facility
·    Facilitate and ensure accurate and timely billing to customers, and support Key Account Management and Sales teams for any accounts receivable issues
·    Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelines, such as the Code of Conduct, assigned work schedules, and attendance requirements.
·    Perform other duties as assigned.
   Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
·    2+ years of international supply chain experience preferably with a shipper, steamship line or freight forwarder.
·    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—collaborative, team player
·    Strong organizational skills with high degree of attention to detail
·    Able to multi-task and maintain high-level of efficiency
·    High degree of accountability for results and self-performance of self and others
·    Bachelor’s Degree
