General Job Description – General Retail Sales
Employment Type: Full Time (Weekends Required)
Reports to: Retail Sales Manager
Job Summary:
Pullman Building Supply is actively seeking dedicated and hard-working individuals to join our retail sales team. As a General Retail Sales Associate, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service, assisting customers with their product needs, and maintaining a clean and organized department. The ideal candidate will be proactive, attentive to detail, and committed to creating a positive shopping experience for our customers.
Essential Job Functions:
- Actively seek out customers to assess their needs, provide product recommendations, and offer assistance to enhance their shopping experience.
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding department products, including features, benefits, and usage recommendations
- Perform daily stock maintenance tasks, including facing products, restocking shelves, and ensuring accurate labeling of products to maintain an organized and visually appealing department
- Ensure the department is clean, shoppable, and safe for customers by performing regular cleaning and organizing tasks
- Assist receiving department with freight
- Stay up on current industry trends, products & Supplies
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management
Working Conditions:
Climate-controlled retail environment with extended periods of time spent on foot.
Education:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently
