Job Description / Responsibility
The General Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing global supply chain operations, ensuring the efficient movement of goods across international markets. This role involves managing global logistics, coordinating with international suppliers, navigating complex trade regulations, and developing strategies to improve cost efficiency and delivery timelines. The General Manager will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and global stakeholders to drive operational excellence and support business growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Developing and implementing international supply chain strategies to support business objectives
Managing the end-to-end supply chain across multiple countries, including sourcing, manufacturing, warehousing, and distribution
Forecasting global demand and plan inventory to ensure market availability while minimizing costs
Building and maintaining relationships with international suppliers and logistics providers
Negotiating contracts, pricing, and service-level agreements with overseas partners
Conducting regular supplier evaluations to ensure quality, compliance, and performance standards
Overseeing global logistics, including ocean, air, and land freight operations
Coordinating international shipments, customs clearance, and trade compliance
Optimizing transportation routes, modes, and consolidation strategies to reduce lead times and costs
Staying up to date on international trade regulations, tariffs, and export/import requirements
Ensuring compliance with regional and global regulatory bodies (e.g., FDA, EU standards, C-TPAT, etc.)
Developing risk mitigation strategies to manage geopolitical, environmental, and market-related disruptions
Using supply chain management software and ERP systems to monitor global operations
Leveraging data analytics to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify areas for improvement
Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain agility and sustainability
Working closely with finance, legal, sales, and production teams to align supply chain activities with business needs
Managing international teams and foster a collaborative, high-performance culture
Providing regular reports and insights to senior management and global stakeholders
Educational Requirements
Masters
Master’s degree preferred in Supply Chain Management, International Business, Logistics, or a related field
Experience Requirements
At least 15 year(s)
The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
E-commerce
Additional Requirements
Proficiency in supply chain software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)
Strong knowledge of international trade laws, Incoterms, and customs procedures
Excellent analytical, negotiation, and strategic planning skills
Ability to travel internationally as needed
Multilingual capabilities (preferred but not required)
Global mindset and cultural awareness
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Adaptability to dynamic, fast-paced global markets
Exceptional communication and leadership skills
