Overview

A well-established and highly respected organization is seeking a General Manager to lead a key Southeast facility. This is a hands-on leadership role with full ownership of operations, team performance, and financial results.

You’ll be responsible for driving operational excellence, building strong teams, and ensuring consistent, high-quality service delivery across a multi-client environment. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced setting and can balance strategic leadership with day-to-day execution.

Key Responsibilities

Operations Leadership

  • Oversee all aspects of facility operations including receiving, storage, distribution, and shipping
  • Ensure smooth, efficient, and reliable day-to-day operations
  • Maintain strong operational flow and service performance

Team Management

  • Hire, train, and develop operations staff
  • Set schedules, assign responsibilities, and enforce accountability
  • Build a high-performance, team-oriented culture
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and performance management

Inventory & Systems Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory control processes
  • Utilize WMS/ERP systems to track and optimize inventory
  • Ensure alignment between system data and physical inventory

Performance & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish and monitor KPIs such as productivity, inventory accuracy, turnaround time, and service levels
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce costs
  • Improve throughput and operational performance

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety standards and regulatory compliance
  • Ensure adherence to operational best practices

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with customers and internal teams
  • Ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery across multiple clients

Financial & Strategic Oversight

  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and expand services
  • Partner with executive leadership on long-term growth strategies

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field
  • Experience in manufacturing, construction, or energy sectors
  • Experience managing multi-client operations
  • Exposure to rail access and project cargo operations

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as needed
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
  • Capable of climbing stairs, ladders, and accessing various work areas
  • Comfortable performing both hands-on and administrative duties
