The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience in FTZ warehouse operations, air and ocean freight, inventory control, fulfillment, shipping and receiving, and local transportation/dispatch operations.
This is a management position, but it requires someone who is willing and able to be actively involved in daily operations, troubleshoot issues, supervise the team, and ensure that cargo, inventory, documentation, and deliveries are handled accurately and on time.
Key Responsibilities FTZ, Warehouse & Inventory Operations
- Oversee daily Foreign Trade Zone (FTZ) warehouse operations and ensure proper handling and control of FTZ inventory.
- Supervise receiving, put-away, storage, picking, packing, staging, loading, and shipping activities.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure physical inventory matches system records.
- Oversee cycle counts, physical inventories, inventory reconciliations, and inventory adjustments.
- Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inventory movements.
- Coordinate closely with the team responsible for FTZ documentation and compliance requirements.
- Maintain an organized, safe, and efficient warehouse environment.

- Coordinate receiving and release of air and ocean shipments with customers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, airlines, ocean carriers, truckers, and other logistics providers.
- Monitor incoming and outgoing shipments and ensure cargo is received, processed, staged, and released according to operational requirements.
- Review and verify shipping documentation, including BOLs, packing lists, shipping labels, PODs, and other transportation documents.
- Identify shipment issues, delays, discrepancies, or missing documentation and coordinate their resolution.
- Ensure warehouse activities are properly coordinated with shipment schedules and customer requirements.
Fulfillment & Customer Operations
- Oversee customer orders from receipt through final shipment or delivery.
- Ensure orders are picked, packed, verified, labeled, and dispatched accurately and on time.
- Coordinate priorities between customers, office staff, warehouse personnel, dispatch, drivers, and third-party carriers.
- Monitor fulfillment accuracy and turnaround times.
- Address operational issues and customer requests professionally and promptly.
- Receive and assist customers during on-site visits, representing the company professionally and ensuring their operational questions, requests, or concerns are properly addressed.
- Conduct or participate in warehouse walkthroughs with customers when necessary and provide clear, professional communication regarding their inventory, shipments, fulfillment activities, and operational processes.
Dispatch & Local Delivery Oversight
- Oversee the dispatch and local delivery function, ensuring that daily pickups, deliveries, driver assignments, and priorities are properly coordinated by the responsible team member.
- Review dispatch activities to ensure schedules, customer requirements, warehouse readiness, and available resources are properly aligned.
- Ensure drivers receive the correct shipment information and documentation and that PODs and delivery records are properly completed.
- Identify gaps, delays, or recurring issues in the dispatch process and take corrective action when necessary.
- Provide direct dispatch coverage when the assigned dispatcher is unavailable or when operational needs require additional support.
- Ensure effective communication between dispatch, warehouse personnel, drivers, customers, and management.
Team & Operational Management
- Supervise warehouse and operational personnel and ensure responsibilities and daily priorities are clearly assigned.
- Ensure proper coordination between warehouse, fulfillment, inventory, dispatch, drivers, and office operations.
- Monitor workflows, productivity, accuracy, and communication to ensure the operation runs efficiently.
- Identify operational gaps, recurring problems, or inefficient processes and restructure workflows, responsibilities, or procedures when necessary to improve the operation.
- Ensure problems are followed through to resolution rather than simply escalated.
- Train, coach, and support employees on operational procedures, customer requirements, and proper cargo/inventory handling.
- Maintain clear communication with customers, vendors, carriers, and management.
- Provide regular operational updates and escalate significant issues when appropriate.
- Ensure company procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards are consistently followed.
Hands-On Operational Support
- This is a hands-on management position requiring regular presence in both the warehouse and office.
- Must be physically able and willing to walk the warehouse, remain on your feet for extended periods when operations require it, and actively monitor warehouse activities.
- Must be willing to assist the team with operational tasks when necessary, including moving or handling cargo within appropriate safety limits.
- Be prepared to step into different operational functions during high-volume periods, employee absences, or unexpected situations.
- Lead by example and provide practical support wherever reasonably needed to keep the operation moving safely and efficiently.
